Nope - they are not guaranteed employment. Nothing is stopping GE from bringing in outside labor, other than the retarded costs of such.

Will someone probably get a job there? Yep. Is it a guarantee? Nope.

Join your local Republican club and you will find out about cronyism and I bet you won't have the balls to speak up.
Go to Townhall and apply for a job.
Then wait 1,000 years for them to call back.

There has never been a requirement that an American interview for anything. There was no such law as you are implying.

Could you translate that into English for me?

I don't know of any local Republican club.

The only Townhall of which I am aware is Townhall Magazine and if i wanted to work for them, I would become a columnist. Otherwise I have no skills they would want.

And I worked on Wall Street with Indians who took upwards of 5 years at enormous cost to produce systems that took Americans a year to complete at maybe one tenth the cost.
As long as the President of the department could show quarterly savings he was rewarded with a very nice annual bonus.
People have to understand that large corporations don't look at the whole picture, they only look at the quarterly picture.

Neither GE nor any other company owes anyone a job.
I 100% agree US Corporations owe nobody a job ... nor should they be forced to invest in America. Their function is the bottom line.

I can't see why their foreign made products (China) get market access to America ... maybe initially it was OK, however after harm was displayed, it should have ended. Its great they can take bigger margins and be more profitable. I just can't see exchanging our countries prosperity for their foreign made products.

Life, liberty, property. Do not harm your society. I'm American, that's my society... and harm is caused. If we were a world government, I would say there is no harm

You don't have any local Republican or Democratic clubs?

I have to ask around; it was somewhere around 2004-2006 where the requirement to find a qualified US citizen was dropped.
That's why many companies took over a year and had to interview a certain quota of Americans before bringing in an H1-B.

So we stop Buying all foreign goods....Then what? Do we magically have the ability to make these products cheaper?????????????cause I have to tell you a secret....It wasn't that they decided it would be easier to make Televisions in Japan it was they made them cheaper cause labor costs were half of ours and taxes were a damn sight better.....There is nothing Americans cant make.......But Americans refuse to make things at a competitive rate. We can all thank the mighty unions that told labor they deserved more than just working for a paycheck. Jealousy killed American jobs more than any other factor.

Until everybody gets vocally angry at BOTH parties, those who think only the Democrats are pulling favors, the Republicans will continue to laugh all the way to the bank.

Once again, think carefully about the product you are touting.
TVs and gadgets are not important in my life.
Necessary appliances are the same price as they were before manufacturing was shipped off to Authoritarian China.
MNC profits are up and that's good for investors.
But we only have about 300,000 US investors who live on their investments.
That's out of about 360,000,000 Americans plus the illegals and business visas who live here; many suckered by promises of a greater reward for their work than they actually get.
The key is Comparative Advantage where both nations and citizens can gain.

While the Japanese never really opened their markets ... comparable wages make trade have a benefit. I'd condone any trade that doesn't damage the country. Bottom line unions went south with effort and then went south period. How many times has a lack of union power been pointed out?

So I save a $100 dollars a year and watch my country go down the shitter because of it ... how does that give me a benefit? If I could eat an Iphone or pay my mortgage with it I might value it more. I'm typing on a computer ... probably made in China. Would I pay more for my country to be better off ... yes.

It's just not worth the savings to see my country in the shitter.

You see it as China's fault or India....The whole reasons they are now prospering was because of OUR jealousy of the rich. Did you think it wasn't a factor that we have the highest corporate taxes in the world????????? or that we have have more and more college educated people who cant even hold a screwdriver? We as Americans think we are Above doing certain things or that if we do them we deserve as much as those employing us. Hell you should thank those foreign countries cause without them you wouldn't be able to afford the computer you are using now. This is not even touching regulation.
