What a waste of time that would be in a forum meant to express opinions about politics and government!
clear and succinct ... now multiply that times 20 and see what you have.

That was intellectual jabs and one liners by the way ... but insults will work for the context here.
I never defend repartee for the sake of repartee. I read past the sarcasm while looking for the meat of the post. I think all repartee does is cause resentment because it tends to be insulting. There is no place for insults in a good discussion.

Clear, succinct and meaningless, serving no purpose.

hmmm so you made a clear and succinct response and it serves no purpose, in demonstrating that there were not 20 similar responses with it?

When the post is 85% repartee I'm not as willing to search for the meat of the post. You make a another good point here repartee causes resentment because it tends to be insulting ... if your post is long that means I've been insulted 20 times ... hardly a reason to warrant the respect of a word search for the "meat" of the post.

Free trade has done good when most agreements are taken into account. It only took one to screw America's future.

So once again we borrow from the manufacturer in order to buy from the manufacturer.
This seemed a good idea for a while until we couldn't afford to pay back the loan.

Yes that's the one. The one that results from ensuring their wages are manipulated so they cannot earn a market wage based upon competition.

I don't believe that imports spur borrowing as they tend to be less expensive than home made products such that less money is borrowed to pay for them.

Repartee may be clear and succinct, but they mean nothing and serve no purpose. The number of responses is irrelevant. The only thing that is relevant is a well thought out supported post. Witty repartee are little more than insults. They are not relevant to any discussion.

I have read several of M's posts. Long that they may be, they did not tend to be insulting except when he is responding to an insulting response to him. Insult breeds insult and to me people who use them breed my contempt.

I do not accept that our future is "screwed." I believe that once we eliminate fanatic liberalism and fanatic conservatism we will continue to prosper into the future and free trade will help us do that.

Chalk that up to individual lack of responsible borrowing.
