To Algore and his fellow Junk Science ilk, this is just more "proof" that "global warming" is occurring....

And rather than discuss the issue intelligently, Algore's disciples make jokes about what's in their refrigerators. How amusing.

You do have to admit, it is pretty convenient that every change in the climate (even ones conclusively demonstrated to be cyclical - like hurricane seasons) has been blamed on Global Warming at some point.

We need more hard science, and fewer uninformed cheerleaders - and failed presidential candidates - mucking up the picture.

The thing that is most disturbing about the Junk Science ilk who continue to claim that "global warming" has occurred is that they haven't even made the scientific case that "warming" has occurred, much less established WHY any imagined "warming" might have occurred.

The Algores speak of a "0.6 degree C" temperature rise over "the past 100 years", yet the temperature measuring instruments used over that span of time couldn't even accurately resolve temperature to 1 degree, much less the o.1 degree or so resolution that would be needed to accurately track a supposed "0.6 degree" shift in temperature!

Which means even their assertion of "global warming" is dubious and is merely in the realm of theory or model. Actual scientific data for their beloved theory is lacking. Indeed, the most accurate temperature measurements of the past 30 or so years seem to indicate global cooling is occurring.

Thus having failed to even scientifically establish the basic premise ("global warming") the Algores are hardly in a position to speculate as to supposed cause.

Don't let fractions in averages confuse you. Even if termometer scales show only every 5 degrees or so, an average can be calculated with any fraction of a degree. That's why an average family can be a 1.2 child family even if no one really gets a 0.2 child (and even if only every 5 kids are counted).

Which means that your ability to speak of "their assertion" does not seem to exceed that of a pre-school child.

Everyone knows that Bush created Global Warming so that he could destroy New Orleans and steal their oil. The al-Gore lead Political Weather phenomenon or Climat Crisis and Environmental agenda is faced with just a bump in the road because of record cold temperatures, $1 billion in destroyed citrus with frost and snow as far south as Texas and San Diego. They would just blame the cold on "Climate Change" as part of a Neocon plot from Carl Rove and Bush anyway.

I don't disagree in the least. It's just unfortunate that some people can't understand that adding energy to the system doesn't equate to warmer temperatures everywhere, but wider variations in many areas.

And, just for the record, it is as much intellectual dishonesty to scour the world for two pictures showing different amounts of snow on top of the same mountain and say it's evidence of global warming as it is to scour the internet for pictures of red hot volcano's and say it's evidence for .. umm, was it CO2 emissions or heating?? .. well, let's just say evidence for anything else than the existence of vulcano's

So the planet is now defined as the Midwest and Nigeria?

Ive never heard anyone blame Hurricanes on global warming. But i have heard climate scientists theorize that warmer oceans may in fact lead to more powerful storms... seems rational to me.

Always. But there is tomes of hard science on climate change. What we need is less mega corps mucking up the picture by deliberately confusing the science. Exxon finally decided to stop funding junk science just the other day and industry has lobbied the white house to do something. It must have been the fist time ever i have seen industry groups ask to be regulated..... amazing.

If you say so. As I've said to a lot of people here, me pointing out the absurdity of a mind-numbingly trite partisan argument does not make me a partisan of the other variety.

The fact is that the Earth is getting warmer, and the greenhouse gasses that we produce contribute to that. That is a fact - not conjecture or some "Algore" conspiracy. What is debatable is the degree to which we cause that and whether or not it is going to do long term damage to our ability to survive and thrive. Another debatable consideration is whether the warming is a temporary condition (perhaps to be followed by a period of similar cooling). I don't buy into a lot of the "chicken little" screeching from political activists who predict doom and gloom with all of the regularity of Revelations/Rapture enthusiasts. I buy into verifiable studies and facts - predicting the weather patterns in the long term future has generally proven fruitless.

That said, my argument about my refrigerator was more intelligent than your OP deserved. When you think about it, the two arguments were the same - somewhere in the world it is cold right now, and therefore there is no such thing as global warming.

What I understand even less than global warming alarmists are people like yourself who seem to have a rabid, almost religious interest in denying that global climate change is occurring. It's as if, since liberals say it is happening, you say it isn't just to spit in their eyes, and consequences be damned. Likely if they all changed their tune and agreed that the globe was cooling, you'd be on here pointing to a heat wave in the southwest, claiming that global warming is an indisputable fact. It's a strange and Luddite attitude that you seem to have, willing to deny current realities for the sake of spewing partisanship. My guess is that you would crap in your own living room, if a bunch of "hippie scientists" came on television talking about the dangers of living in unsanitary conditions.
