Global Warming? I Think Not...

Last year, in the eastern part of San Diego County, it was brutal. Temperatures in the three-digit range were order of the day. If the temperature dipped into the low 90's, you could hear people discussing the "cold snap".

This year, the temperature out here has been quite mild. I can think of only one day this summer where the mercury climbed above 100 degrees. Lately, it's been hovering in the mid-80's.

How about where you are? Has the temperature this summer been, on average, higher or lower than last year? I know some parts of the country have been blasted with a heat wave lately but, overall, is this summer cooler than last summer?

Re: Global Warming? I Think Not...

No. Last summer was very wet. This summer has been hot and dry, especially for this area, since our weather usually changes from sun to rain to sun to rain to sun in a really short amount of time.

Of course, this doesn't really have anything to do with Global Warming... that refers to the average global temperature, the results of which do not necessarily mean warming in all parts of the globe: indeed, some parts will get cooler first.
