Re: America actually booed at climate conference.

You can make fun all you want, but the fact that a major figurehead sheds tears of frustration has had a major impact. Do you think it was tactics? "Oh, I can't get my way so I start crying"?? Wake up.

I can't fathom that people actually debate over the conference being held in Bali in relation to travel expenses and contributing to polution. Some kind of distraction ploy? It doesn't matter if it's held in NY, Bali or the freaking Northpole. You would still have to fly in thousands of politicians, scientists, press people and support staff where ever it's held!

For Christ's sake even China - a hardline autocracy - is stepping up to the plate! Yes, it's a token gesture for the moment, but it's better than the White House stance for the last years which has been to deny that human activity is responsible!

You are quickly running out of friends in the international community...

BTW, BBC News happens to be one of the most respected medias, especially noted for its integrity and courage to show "alternative" footage. But go ahead and watch Fox, CBS, CNN etc. Corporate America thanks you for your continued ignorance and consumer eagerness.

This just shows that there is a lack of better arguments.

Re: America actually booed at climate conference.

american foreign policy is extremely self centered and does not care for the troubles of others. in this case it is George Bush trying to discredit the entire global warming prevention movement because of his affiliation with oil companies and it would cost those oil companies to have to clean up their act. now if were not going to do anything about global warming we should not go around telling people what to do to stop it.

The days of world 'leadership' are done, I believe. The king has no clothes.
