wonder if this is on the lines of the day after tomorrow movie where due to global warming the planet is Air Conditioning itself and fixing its self by rotating cold air into other areas

Typical…usually it takes a decade or 2 and Billions of dollars to put paid to this type of progressive illness where in their must be some dyspepsia to be had, be it social or environmental… acid rain, population bomb, world hunger, new ice age or massive cooling…..now we are struck on global warming, while evidence keeps popping up saying other wise….whatever.
It will probably still cost 10’s of if not 100’s of billions because no progressive mind*uck, goes down without a fight, in short, they have not wrecked enough shit yet. But as far as I am concerned, the jury is in. The planet in a TKO. With some help from man.

We are currently in a strong La Nina, and the sun is at solar minimum. This combination of factors will reduce the measured temperature increase from AGW.

We are still warming.

The self-regulating systems theory (Gaia) proposes and is backed up by some evidence that the earth does in fact strive to be cooler rather than hotter (relative to a global average mean temp of around 14 degrees Celsius).

The idea is that life thrives under cooler temperatures (thanks to the properties of water) and that the climate evolved over millions of years in conjunction with 'life' to eventually produce a relatively stable climate system in what is now earths middle age.

You're right, acid rain was a very big problem until regulations were introduced to reduce the emmisions of chemicals that caused it. Canada used to suffer from it because of American emmisions, Germany's Black Forest was devestated by it, i'm not sure if the problem was solved or if it's just not as bad now. I think Japan still has problems from Chinese pollutants causing it... not sure though.

I brought up the self-regulation quite a while in the past. There's no profit in a system that runs itself. Now YOU want to theorize that our climate is constantly variable, but has a "sweet spot" that it revolves around? At least credit me for proposing it well over a year ago.
