David Letterman the jerk gets exposed by fellow liberal.

Quote:
Brokaw Scolds Letterman on 'Horrible' U.S.; Environmental Hypocrisy
By Brent Baker | June 10, 2008 - 02:29 ET

Tom Brokaw came aboard Monday's Late Show to promote his book, Boom! Voices of the Sixties: Personal Reflections on the '60s and Today, but soon chided David Letterman with some historical context after Letterman forwarded standard liberal claims about how the America of 2008 is in a “horrible” state thanks to the awful President George W. Bush, and when Letterman fretted about government inaction on global warming, Brokaw embarrassed the late night host by pointing out how he's a big carbon-producer since he drives a big vehicle and flies executive jets.

On the terrible state of the nation, Letterman contended “everything...has gone so lousy in the last eight years” so “things are horrible in ways they shouldn't be horrible.” Brokaw pointed to his book about 1968, and delivered a friendly lecture:

Let me remind you that forty years ago this year, Doctor King was killed, Bobby Kennedy was killed, we had the Chicago riots, 16,000 people were killed in Vietnam, Lyndon Johnson decided not to run for re-election, the Kerner Commission said we are two societies -- one white, one black, separate and unequal -- we had urban riots and in the fall we had as cantankerous and as contentious and in many way as mentally violent an election as we've ever had...
Similarly assuming the present is the worst ever, Letterman complained: “People are all talking about, 'okay we're going to change the emissions by 2035, by 2020.' That's too late. I mean, it's a hundred degrees now!” Letterman pleaded: “It's got to come from the government. They have to lead us.” Brokaw agreed, but then made the host uncomfortable:

BROKAW: The government has to lead and those of us who drive -- uhh uhh -- big carbon-emitting vehicles or fly in airplanes that have only two passengers on them-
LETTERMAN: Alright, alright, that's fine Tom.

The video is so much better......funny how quick they are to go to commercial.

Tom exposes a hypocrite GW'er nut as driving huge SUV's and flying in a jet with only two people but the govt needs to step in to cure the earth. But dont mess with my (letterman) big SUV and private jet because I am elitist liberal who deserves a bigger carbon foot print than anyone else because "I CARE"

Re: David Letterman the jerk gets exposed by fellow liberal.

I thought Letterman was a Republican originally. At least it's clear he has voted for them before in the past.

We all need to lessen our carbon footprints, but it starts with us and it also takes the government. The biggest source of pollution going into the air today has everything to do with our consumption of beef. It's kind of sick how much beef we eat. The other big thing is oil. People ought to be able drive their cars alone and fly their jets alone if they wish, but we just need to make engines that don't run on dirty oil anymore.

It's all will power at this point, both individual and collective, including the gov't. Personally, I feel our culture is far too lazy to do anything about it. Our empire is falling apart while we over-eat, get fat, and watch too much tv.

Carbon Footprint?

Carbon Dioxide is good for the Earth. Trees need it to survive.

The Oceans put out more Green House gases in the form of Methane then man will ever dream of and this Global Warming hoax is just an attempt to redistribute wealth.....nothing more.....Oh maybe to raise the price of gas enough to force us to sell our SUVs and buy death traps.

The Earth has been cooling since 1998. Bill Clinton tried the Global Warming gig when he was President. The Democrats are 10 years too late.

You are wrong. He is what you would call an independent or swing voter. He has voted for both; as he himself has stated:

Show me the proof about your assertion that the Earth has been cooling since 1998 please. And please don't humor us with Alex Jones crap.

And is from when?

The last 16 years Letterman has taken a hard left. First he was on his knee's in front of Clinton, now he has been attacking Bush and republicans for the last 8 years.

Maybe if you listened instead being gulliable to believe everything you read.

As for facts, how has Letterman voted the last four elections for President? Hmmmmm............wouldnt be for Republicans and he has made it clear he won't be voting for McCain. But we all know how you and facts works.

Oh, horseshit.

The guy's a late-night talk show host. A large portion of his bread and butter comes from Presidents, regardless of their party. If you think Letterman didn't go after Clinton, then you've only been watching Late Night for the last seven years...

Then explain why Letterman and Clinton are friends?

And why Clinton was a guest on the show fours times and Bush not once(that I know of)?

Because I would know that.

Perhaps he's been invited onto the show, and he's declined. Possible?

This is news? I mean unless I'm mistaken Letterman is hardly a public official, so again why should anyone care about what a comedian thinks again?

Because Lost Soul won't be happy until every single person in America thinks the exact same way that he does. Dude's intense.

Any producer would love to put a president as unpopular as Bush on a top-rated talk show with someone as sharp as Letterman for comedy relief. Why would any political handler let an extremely unpopular president appear on a top-rated talk show and be verbally cut to ribbons for his failures in front of a national audience?

And then there's the show biz fact that Clinton can put sentences together while pronouncing all the words correctly versus Bush's, to be polite he's not known as a talented public speaker.
