Is Al Gore the world's biggest hypocrite? Gore has a right to use the energy he deems necessary. But he doesn't have the right to make his dire claims of global warming and the need to reduce energy use, yet fail to live up to, in any manner at all, his own prescription to "save mankind"! He not only uses enough energy to power 20 homes but actually increased his usage over the last year. Big Gay Al is in an hypocrisy league all his own.

Personally, I have no problem with Big Gay AL and his massive Carbon footprint - I am not a climate alarmist. But his biggest fans all seem to be mum on the subject. I wonder why?

Sure, he uses a lot of energy, but he also gets them from green sources and buys carbon credits to offset his carbon footprint.

I'm not disputing any of this story, but this is pretty old news (Feb. 2007). Any reason to bring it up now? Is Al running for office or something?

Probably to do with his endorsement of Obama where he spoke about solving climate problems.

It is an issue, he's a hypocrite pure and simple. He's one of those elitest who believes he's entitled to more and that its ok as long as you buy your credits. But that does nothing to reduce emissions which is what he's clamouring for.

Reminds of the days when people would buy indulgences from the church for sin. It doesn't work that way and neither does it work that way where the environment and one's carbon footprint is concerned.

Who is selling those carbon credits that Gore supposedly is buying (don't see any mention of his purchasing carbon credits in your link, BTW)?

Carbon Credits are a farse.

The best thing is to control your use, and do everything you can not to pollute. Carbon Credits are not a replacement for a clean environment.
