Now I'm only assuming that he was forced to recant, but no other explanation makes sense. Funny. Would be ominous but on this issue I believe that cooler minds will eventually prevail. The global warming position grows increasingly fragile.

And really, can there be a stupider statement than the following from this so called expert?

“Mother Nature is so big, the world is so big, the oceans are so big – I think we’re going to die from a lack of fresh water or we’re going to die from ocean acidification before we die from global warming, for sure."

Its "so big" ,,, well there is a scientific argument if i ever heard one.

The vanishing of fresh water (melting of glaciers) and the acidification of the oceans (taking up CO2) are both consequences of too much CO2 in the atmosphere. And we know for a fact that the surplus CO2 in the atmosphere comes from burning fossil fuels and eliminating forests.

Perhaps that guy should stick to the weather and leave the climate issues to those who actually know what they are talking about.

No climate scientist has ever confused localized weather systems in very short time periods with what is known as climate.

Climate is the average of weather over long term periods. Climate change is when the climate shifts from one state to another. Global warming is when the average temperature of the globe over long periods of time goes up. This can lead to climate change.
