Yeah... I'm probably no help, either. At any given time, I probably have somewhere from 4-9 computers running in my house. I leave all electronic gizmos on all the time when I'm not there. And, that's part of the purpose of my experiment (well, that and to profit from the results, if all goes well) - I want to see just how much we're talking, rather than just hearing vague estimates.

I notice the washer to be very conservative with water.

And this isn't really about anyone needing 'your' money. It is about getting the economy going again and I personally like this better than handing trillions of dollars to companies for nothing but the process of handing them money.

And FYI: once money is paid to the government it is no longer 'your' money, it is considered the government's money.

I agree with your stance on this issue. I live in some pretty old apartments and before our appliances were refurnished, they were working really poorly. Since, our apartment has been furnished with a new oven, stove and refrigerator. I have seen a decline in my electrical bill. Its quite possible that the old appliances were using unnecessary energy that I am now saving. Saving energy (ie getting new appliances, a kind of 'cash for crappy appliances' program) is making the economy better like you said, not attempting to drain us of our $'s just for the heck of it.
