I went outside the other morning and found a drinking glass with a big chunk of ice in it. This is Chicago in October and its far more common to get Indian summer days rather then nights where its cold enough to freeze a large glass of water solid.

the ocean is warming and continues to warm, regardless of various climate conditions. such conditions that don't surprise me considering the cooling effects from rapid melting ice caps and relative cool sun cycle.

It might though, not as a cause but as a consequence. The geologic past shows evidence of increased volcanism at the pole when the ice sheets melt, releasing the pressure on the tectonic plate.

The continues to war despite short term cooling. This past decade was approx. 0.11 degrees celsius warmer than the previous decade.

Besides, the atmospheric temperatures in the arctic are about 5 degrees Celsius warmer on average than they were 3 decades ago.

Im thinking more of the greenland ice sheet, not the arctic sea ice. The ice sheet would be pushing on the plate, as it would be in antarctica.

Regardless, the air temperatures above the arctic have risen higher than anywhere in the world, and the oceans around the globe are warming pretty much uniformly. Those facts do not jive with the theory that undersea volcanoes in the arctic are responsible. And it is a known geologic process that as pressure is released from a tectonic plate volcanic activity increases, and we know that Greenland is rapidly losing ice mass as well, which undersea volcanoes cannot explain.

Also, the warming of the oceans has been happening from the top down, not the bottom up.
