I understand this active ridge is localized yea? Ice is melting in massive volumes on both sides of the globe. If there was a connection as the sole source of melting, wouldn't one pole melt much quicker?

Not even just both end of the globe, but glaciers all over the globe are melting as well.

In theory, Global Warming should eventually cool off the oceans as the cooler water migrates south and enters the ocean currents. The fact that ocean temps continue to rise is problematic.
