Re: It's the end of the world.

While I don't think humans caused global warming (anymore), I think the hype about humans causing global warming is quiete useful. People are beginning to accept the idea that the few resources we have left on this planet need to be spent carefully and that the resources we have plenty of need to be used more effectively. This is exactly what could prevent the war with China which IMHO is likely to happen in the end of the second decade or the beginning of the third decade of our century.

Absolutely. God damn ice shelf trying to bluff us all into taking five minute showers and driving pussy Japanese cars.

It's possible because the skeptic (or conspiracy theorist) in me is irrational.

Also I was implying that it's not beyond members of the scientific community to provide misleading data in an attempt to effect policy.

Do you have any evidence that the data is misleading, that these scientists are engaged in fraud, or that the arctic ice is not melting at an accelerating rate?

Re: It's the end of the world.

No I don't. If you pay attention, you'll notice that I also didn't make any of those arguments. I simply pointed out, in a way you apparently can't grasp, that the statement made was too fantastic to be immediately accepted as truth.

Judging from your response (and the fact that I made a joke about my skepticism in my first post and made it again in bold just for your benefit in my last post) I'll assume you've automatically taken this as the holy word of some god who governs the realm of environmental science.

oh lord that was a good one...well I'm sorry the Mayans are so upset about this. I didn't realize the Mayan civilization was still around but hopefully they can sacrifice a few virgins to keep the universe going for a few extra years.

edit: does this mean Nick Saban is the anti-Christ, and Bama winning the BCS will be our destruction? I can see Saban being the Dark Lord, but I just can't picture Alabama going undefeated.

I took the tone of your original post to mean you've automatically decided its some vast conspiracy.

That's for sure.

The US will pay off its debt

I'm sure it will eventually.

One way or another, someday it will happen. The only question is whether we as a people can control ourselves for the forty years it would reasonably take to pay down, or if we'll have to inflate our way out of it and tank the world economy because we're undisciplined assholes. Guess which one I'm laying my money on before it becomes worthless?

Its the end of the world?

Good.

The sooner the better, then we'll all know if the christians were right or wrong, and we'll quit bitching about things that don't matter, and the planet can breathe a sigh of relief and get itself back to doing what it does best without being interfered with by a bunch of over zealous jumped up ants.

Probably the same one I am

What else can you do ?

Reality will kick us all in the ass eventually. Some of us will pull through, some won't.

Re: It's the end of the world.

This along with every other report 'showing' 'global warming' is 100% pure bullshit.

Not happening... and if it were... we... man, would not be the driving force
