"Enraged" Obama takes action on the spill...

... by boldly launching a PR campaign.

Video - Breaking News Videos from CNN.com

Gotta make sure that spill doesn't damage anything important - like his image....

Not so weird. You know the old joke about what you call 200 lawyers at the bottom of the sea, don't you? "A good start." Guess he plans to plug the leak with them.

Yes, I know that is gallows humor, but I couldn't resist!

I'm glad that Obama will own just what Bush did......a disaster that he had no control over. I'm sure the damage, both economic and environmental will outlast Katrina.

Obama said he was 'focused' on this. First thing he thought about in the morning and the last thing at night. Right up to when the (60% sure) solution failed.

Now... like his 'laser like focus' on jobs... Obama's got nothing.

Question: Assuming this does require the use of a nuke. How can you be sure it will close the leak and not just open it up further?

interesting takes here, the wapo has him engaged at the press conf. when the apparent success of the fudge packing of the pipe was high, but then...now hes sorta kinda treading softer, creating disyance ala parachuting in the lawyers.

then again his inner circle working grp. is all lawyers with very heavy gov. backgrounds and one laser/atom engineer....so when you're a hammer, every problem looks like nail.

    out with the old.....

Obama on BP oil spill: "I'm fully engaged."
    Press conference transcript

The American people should know that from the moment this disaster began, the federal government has been in charge of the response effort. As far as I’m concerned, BP is responsible for this horrific disaster, and we will hold them fully accountable on behalf of the United States as well as the people and communities victimized by this tragedy.

Struggling to convey command of the worsening Gulf of Mexico oil spill, the Obama administration is taking steps to distance itself from BP and is dispatching Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to the Gulf Coast to meet with federal and state prosecutors. The Holder trip could signal that the environmental calamity might become the subject of a criminal investigation. …

Well I know if I had a disaster happen here, I would be extremely relieved to know that a commission was named to make a report about it.
I mean to think, if I had to go through the ordeal without being able to know a report about it was coming soon...I just don't know if I could make it.
