Do these people call themselves civilised?! Are they even worth to be considered human?!
I wish terrorists commit mass murders in Denmark to match the atrocities committed by Danish scam, they deserve it!

All good socialists have villas in Southern France. That's not the point.

Disgusting! Absolutely disgusting!
But to make a national festival out of gang-murder of defenceless, trusting creatures is despicable!
Something like that you can kind of expect from savage tribes, but from EUROPEANS???!!!
Where are UN/EU busybodies who love to condemn anyone for sneezing out of tune with "European civilised values"?!

Guess you don't care much for hog killin's either.

Um...the "dolphins" in your picture are, in fact, pilot whales which are part of the dolphin family.
Like I said, the pictures aren't pretty but harvesting meat is a bloody process. The "national festival", as you call it, has been going on since the 16th century and is, apparently, substantially scaled back from what it used to be.
Look, harvesting of meat is most often done behind closed doors because a lot of people don't like to look at the means of production but there is something to be said for these kind of ceremonies. In many native American cultures, for instance, there would be a significant ceremony surrounding the buffalo hunt or the fish harvest. These ceremonies served not only an entertainment purpose but they also raised the consciousness about what was being taken and what it was being taken for.

Do you not see the difference between hunting out of necessity, for food; growing animals for food and national festival of gang-slauter of wild defenceless creatures for fun!!!!! And don't give me %%% of sea-food in Danish diet, don't they have SUPERMARKETS where they can buy meat from FARMED animals?!
I am not a vegeterian, but I buy only free-range meat: if we have to kill animals, at least we should do it in as less painful way as possible and ensure farmed animals have at least some life...
Danes are disgusting!
Out of curiosity, what, to your thinking, is the difference between beef from "free range" cattle and meat from a wild whale?
Is it really more "humane" to raise animals specifically for slaughter rather than to catch and kill wild animals for food? Seriously, if this ceremony was strictly about killing the animals and then leaving the carcasses there to rot and be pecked by birds it would be a vastly different story in my book but these animals are harvested for food and blubber used in trade goods. Carcasses are used for fertilizer. This is a hearkening back to a particular way of life when the relationship between man and animal was much more intimate than it is now.
I'm not asking you to change your opinion on this matter...just to keep an open mind about what is actually happening.
