Oprah Winfrey’s interview with former vp candidate Sarah Palin scored the talk show host her highest rating in two years.

Monday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" drew a 8.7 household rating and 13 share -- the best since Winfrey had the entire Osmond family on the show in 2007.

That means Palin also topped Winfrey's heavily viewed interviews with Whitney Houston at the start of the season.

Palin is making the rounds to promote her new book, "Going Rogue," which came out Tuesday.

Winfrey began the interview by asking Palin if she felt snubbed at not getting an invitation to appear on the show last year. Winfrey said she didn't have any candidates on her Chicago-based show during the campaign because of her support for President Barack Obama.

Palin said she didn't feel snubbed and told Winfrey, "No offense to you, but it wasn't the center of my universe."

They certainly deserve it. Actually, they don't give a rats ass what us dumb "workers" or "drones" think. They've done their best to ignore this:

'pink slips' campaign

............

A news conference has been scheduled for Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. at the House Triangle outside the U.S. Capitol to address the "pink slips" campaign that already has generated more than 4.5 million notices to members of Congress that their jobs will depend on their representation of America's real needs.
..........

Congress jumping onto 'pink slips' campaign

----------------------------------------

I expect they'll do their best to ignore this too:

----------------------------------------

Send Congress & Obama an Eviction Notice

236 years later, we have a Congress (and President) who blatantly thumb their noses at the U.S. Constitution and ignore the pleas of the majority of American Citizens. Just like our forefathers who threw Tea overboard in Boston, we've identified 9 main reasons why the current Congress should be thrown out in the next election. We want our house back, so we've set a goal to send one million eviction notices to The House of Representatives and the Senate before they adjourn this year. We even have an option to send an eviction notice to the White House!

1. You have broken your contract with America by violating your oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States by expanding the powers of the Government in exchange for our God-given Liberties.

2. You have ignored the pleas of the majority of Americans by forcing a takeover of our private health care industry and exchanging it for a bureaucratic nightmare.

3. You are attempting to control our economy by empowering "Pay Czars" to regulate the income of workers.

4. You are increasing taxes on small business owners, the life blood of our free economy, while bailing out the banking industry.

5. You are overstepping your Constitutional Boundaries by agreeing with this present Administration to seize control of private industries, such as banking, automobile manufacturing, and health care.

6. You have jeopardized the international value of our currency with deficit spending.

7. You have failed to secure our national defense by refusing to tap the vast natural resources within our own borders and off our own shores.

8. You have punished citizens and private business establishments with further regulation with hysteria and false claims of "climate change".

9. You have borrowed against our children's future for political gain today

Evict the Congress

-----------------------------------

Whatever the case, I hope we do evict the knotheads we currently have ASAP.

well looks like the complaimts had no merit......so will he have to sue to get his job back or?

Of course for Obama its mission accompoolaished, as while Walprin was gone the shit storm he started got the plug pulled on it.

Snip-

Gerald Walpin, the AmeriCorps inspector general fired by the White House in July during his probe of Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, has been cleared of a complaint by the acting U.S. attorney in Sacramento that he had acted improperly.

Now, he says, he wants his job back...

Walpin filed suit in federal court in Washington, D.C., in July alleging that he was fired improperly while investigating whether Johnson had misused federal grant funds. The government is trying to have the case dismissed, but Walpin filed documents in court late Monday opposing that.

Among the documents was an Oct. 19 letter from the Integrity Committee of the Council of the Inspectors General for Integrity and Efficiency telling him that the probe against him had been closed.

“After carefully considering the allegations described in the complaint together with your response, the IC determined that the response sufficiently and satisfactorily addressed the matter and that further inquiry or an investigation regarding the matter was not warranted,” committee Chairman Kevin L. Perkins wrote.

And the big snip, what a friggin coincidence eh? The case just got closed…what ‘luck’…

The FBI probe into whether e-mails were deleted during a separate federal investigation of Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson's St. HOPE Academy has been closed without charges being filed.

Federal officials said Tuesday there was not enough evidence to support allegations that the e-mails were intentionally deleted while Johnson's nonprofit organization was being probed by federal Inspector General Gerald Walpin.

Palin gets paranoid over 'coin conspiracy'

Waxing paranoia at a pro-life gathering of 5,000 in Wisconsin the other night (where cameras and other recording devices were not permitted, naturally) former Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin touched upon the anti-God conspiracy in the current U.S. gov't and it's new dollar coins, which feature "In God We Trust" not in the center of the coin where they used to be engraved, but around the edges of the coin now. THE EDGES OF THE COIN! THOSE GODLESS BASTERDS!

During the speech, she resurrected her own mental incapability to understand what paliative and end-of-life care are all about, insisting once more on her mythical notion of "death panels" where bureaucrats will decide whether gramma lives or not.

Adding injury to insult, she insisted that the government's "death panels" are needed in order to cut gov't costs on healthcare. Meanwhile, it is the GOP argument that healthcare costs will skyrocket, leaving Palin alone in her assessment that Obama is actually trying to save money in the first place.

It's like there is no bottom with Palin. No level too low for her to reach. No plateau of idiocy she isn't afraid to jump to next.

I wish I could say "when will she finally go away?", but it's just too entertaining to see her pandering to new lows seemingly every week.

Over the course of the last year, she's shown herself to be a quitter just when she needed to show that as Gov. she could go on and lead, she's had a public feud with a late-night comedian and even a spat with the ex-boyfriend of her daughter, who was knocked-up by the poor lad. Now with this "death panel" shit coming back up again and her wild anti-God conspiracy crap, I have one question: How does she think this stuff is going to help her appear as a legitimate candidate for POTUS in 2012?

I would love to see her debate the President in 3 years time, but she just keeps shooting herself in the foot at every turn. Weary of her overall zaniness, I'd have to say this all benefits Mike Huckabee when it comes to securing the religious right's endorsement.

Too bad, watching Palin actually run a presidential campaign would be just wild to see, but Margaret Thatcher she is not. More like W's retarded little cousin.

A few days ago, the left-wing activist group MoveOn.org began sending out emails seeking contributions to fund primary challenges against any Democratic senator who does not fully support "health care reform with a public option." Now there's an update: MoveOn executive director Justin Ruben says the group has raised $3,578,117 for the project and is thinking of new ways to punish errant Democratic lawmakers.

"It's a huge sum, and the clearest signal yet that any Democrat who helps Republicans filibuster health care reform will face an enormous backlash from the grassroots," writes Ruben. And now, working in conjunction with Howard Dean's old organization Democracy for America, MoveOn is starting a drive to take away the committee chairmanships of any Democrat who fails to live up to MoveOn's progressive standards. "Many of these senators hold coveted committee chairmanships that give them significant power within the Senate," Ruben writes. "Our friends at Democracy for America have launched an open letter urging Senate Democrats to strip committee chairmanships from any Democrat who filibusters health care." Ruben says that more than 66,000 MoveOn and Democracy for America members have pledged to contribute.

Toe the Leftist Line or they're coming after you. It sounds like a lot of whining from the Left, but three years after capturing Congress, and a year after their common enemy left the White House, the Dem's infighting over Socialist goals may be a good sign for the GOP next year.

Blue Dogs are faced with either appeasing the hard core Socialists or having to face primary challenges from well heeled Liberals. The Purists on the Left have little tolerance for Blue Dogs who wish to maintain a "moderate" persona.

Republicans Change Bankruptcy Laws to Benefit Credit Card Co and Banks 2006

Bankruptcy Bill Passes; Bush Expected to Sign
For Many, Erasing Debt Would Be Harder

Consumer advocacy groups and many Democrats, who fought the legislation, disagree, arguing that lenders' liberal credit policies and aggressive sales practices have been equally responsible for putting many Americans over their heads in debt. They say the new legislation would be too harsh on individuals driven into debt by job loss, sickness, divorce or military duty. That is especially unfair, they say, because the bill would preserve loopholes that enable wealthy individuals who file for bankruptcy to shield unlimited amounts of money in complex trusts and in multimillion-dollar homes in states including Texas and Florida.
Change Bankruptcy laws, Then Visa, Master Card go public to Screw You at Will, when they knew they had run the country into the ground by giving out to much credit or bad loans to anyone who asked, knowing the Federal Reserve would back up all the Billions they Stole.

Defeating a deep blue state like NJ whom elected by 15 points Obama over McCain, well there it is. Was it a vote ON Obama? I’d say no not personally, but if folks felt better about their economic situation, if health care wasn’t such a financial twist on top of the stimulus etc. I think the margin would have been dead even or even left Corzine as the winner. Obama doesn’t appear to have coattails.

Indies appear to have went for Chrisitie 58% to 31%. Very worrisome.

I think one thing is definitely true; minds are getting very busy among the blue dogs and Senators from purple or split states.

In Virginia, it was down right ugly. The numbers tell the tale.

The NY 23rd- it appears that’s a spread out district geographically and some counties and townships have said they will not report their results till morning.

Lets take a hypothetical scenario:

Obama decides not to run again, and 2012 is wide open to all candidates from both parties for the presidential race.

Who would you like to see win the nomination from each party? I don't mean who WILL win. I mean Who would you LIKE to see win the nomination from EACH PARTY.

I don't intend for people to pick a terrible candidate from the party they don't like just so their own guy will win. I want people to pick a candidate from the opposing party who they actually could stand to see in the office of the president if the person actually won.

If you want to be more detailed, give the closest opponent who each candidate would face in the primaries.

Personally, here would be my two picks if I could envision a country that was really ready for good change:

Ron Paul (R) (barely edged out Mike Gravel from Alaska)
Dennis Kucinich (D) (barely edged out Russ Feingold from WI)

I'm not putting this in the "Just for Fun" section because I genuinely want people to treat this as a serious scenario, to see what kind of politics people on this forum could actually get behind.

Also, it will be a bit pointless to name people like your local city council member since pretty much noone will know who the hell that is. So this should be people with at least some national standing or at least state Governor level.
