Personally, I interpret that to mean that the government cannot deny me the right to even go out and buy a fully loaded AH-64 Apache. So, hopefully when the SCOTUS does make a ruling, it agrees with me. Anything else is a travesty.

The problem for people like Feinstein is that while her constituents may be in favor of restricting gun ownership that sentiment does not represent the majority. Look I think we can agree once a member of Congress gets into office they will follow the party when they can with one exception. If their consituents make their opinions known they will generally follow those wishes unless they plan on committing the political equivalent of suicide. I have never seen any poll ever that indicates a majority of Americans want to restrict gun ownership. There maybe some specific issues like background checks and requirements for gun shows or restricting certain types of ammunition that can find a majority but not the outright elimination of your or my right to own a gun. As long as that is the case Feinstein can't want to do anything she thinks is right, but she is not likely to get the support of even her party let alone the Repubs.

TO me Matt this is simply a scare tactic, just like the pro choice people use partial birth abortion as a scare tactic for their followers. I personally have more faith in the electorate even if I do not have that faith in the elected officials.

Abortion and same-sex marraige will keep your guns safe, IMO. The farther left dems, I doubt, will use their limited leaverage for gun control when protecting abortion and pushing same-sex marriage will take enough of their time/power and go farther to appease their constituients. Honestly, the Dems could probably do more to increase their support by legalizing marijuana than by abolishing guns. Gun control laws wouldn't make political sense in the near future.
