About 20ish percent of the democratic congress are gun fans and would never sign off on banning guns.

No need to worry.

They will never have the majority on this issue. (Not anytime soon at all, anyway...not unless they lose that 20% who are all for guns and are members/supporters of the NRA)

What's your deal, dude? I would appreciate it if you could state things in a tactful manner. We are adults; not highschool kids.

Now, let me explain this... I stated that guns don't kill people; it is the people behind the guns that do. Guns certainly don't shoot themselves. The gang members and punks do as well as other loonies (excluding the act of pure self-defense, which does not consist of vengeful defense). Now, my point was that if we take away guns, they will just find other ways to kill you. Therefore, when I hear gunshots at night, I think about banning guns, but it's almost useless. I think there needs to be more PEOPLE control versus gun control. The problem isn't the guns. It's the asshole behind the gun who wants to kill people with it.

Sorry - real life isnt tactful, and frankly when someone makes comments indicating they are taking an anti-gun position, my responses are quite likely going to be quite blunt. I take offense when someone advocates restricting my rights.

If you meant that you realized that banning guns was useless, as it was people that were the problem, then you should have said so. Your original comment said that you think of banning guns. Thats the only information you gave. You follow this on with a statement which completely contradicts your prior anti-gun stance - which is frankly rather consistent with the anti-gun position. There is a demonstrated acknowlegement by the anti-gun crowd that while they know banning guns wont solve a thing in the way of crime, they still want to do it anyway.

I am sorry you are offended by bluntness and sarcastic dismissal of your position, but perhaps you should also consider just how incredibly rude the entire anti-gun position is to those of us who support the entire Constitution - not just the bits and pieces which make us feel good.
