Schumer feinstein etc how long til more gun bans gun laws ? I know some moderate (conservative) dems won like Casey etc but i bet in the next 2 years some anti gun bills willl pop up if they end up with the senate(seems this way) as well as the house.

Another interesting question to ask is if they do this will the supreme court finally settle the matter in favor of one way or the other. The supreme court is reluctant to decide on the second amendment, but at some point they will have to do it.

At least a few democrats in the south ran very strong pro-gun runs in the south. If they wish to keep their jobs, they will vote strongly against any gun control measures.

There may be a halfhearted effort to toss out gun control measures, to keep the anti-freedom base of the Democrats happy. But I do not think it will get passed in the senate.

I agree there are some pro gun dems out there but i think it is fire for certain groups of the base that gives money :P

If the democrats were smart they wouldn't risk it. When you start messing with fundamental rights it pisses many people off. Its a shame that people pick and choose the rights to get angry over, though.

Gun confiscation was a big reason for the 1994 Republican takeover. Dem control will be VERY short-lived if they try it again. Same goes for the Impeachment obsession.

The democrats have had it wrong on guns for a long time. They should leave guns alone. Be more libertarian in that regard. I don't want the gvt in my gun cabinet, my wallet , or my bedroom.

Spad did you even see the types of Dems that won for the most part. It isn't the same old same old northeast liberals. I doubt seriously some, in fact most of the new dems, will be voting to take away your uzi anytime soon.

In my mind, the question will become how susceptible the freshmen congressmembers are to arm twisting and quid pro quo demands from the established Democratic leadership.

There can be little doubt that the established Leadership (Schumer, Kennedy, Feinstein, et al) are strongly anti-gun. Feinstein, for instance, has publicly declared her desire and intent to ban all handguns, if she can ever get the votes.

yeah i just thought of the whole thing cause schumer the other day brought up gun control on a news show .. so i thought it might show its head again he even mentioned how like casey etc was opposie as him on this view and that the democrat party is a big tent blah blah
