Actually, I have no doubt about you, and your meally mind I feel very sorry for your grandchildren. Just to give an example. While I am prepared to wait to find out what has happened, you have already decided not only that the man is guilty, but precisely what he is guilty of . Reference your comment Quote: "That child molesting kidnapper" Part of that is may be correct, perhaps even all of it. but you play Judge and Jury, not only on him, but also on me, because I have the common sense and audacity to question the situationand actually wait to pass judgement until the evidence is in You have it all figured out. Which one of us is acting appropriately. me or the so-called Christian you claim to be.?? Last edited by doniston; 01-15-2007 at 05:42 PM. |

Quote:
The Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage exhibits loyalty to the hostage-taker, in spite of the danger (or at least risk) in which the hostage has been placed. According to the psychoanalytic view of the syndrome, the tendency might well be the result of employing the strategy evolved by newborn babies to form an emotional attachment to the nearest powerful adult in order to maximize the probability that this adult will enable - at the very least - the survival of the child, if not also prove to be a good parental figure. This syndrome is considered a prime example for the defense mechanism of identification.

Re: TWO boys.
Are they asking questions denying Stockholm syndrome? Who, other then yourself, is suggesting Stockholm syndrome is not a fit? Do you think this guy could have been operating a home for runaway boys?

that she did it for the thrills. yeh, she was kidnapped but joined them for the kicks. But that psychosis has become a common excuse including for Elizabeth Smart. It is much easier than just saying the kids run away from home. I'm not saying this is the case here, but we just don't know YET> |

Re: TWO boys.
If someone mentioned this already, I apologize:
Wiki/Google 'Stockholm Syndrome'. The human psyche is interesting in that it can be 'engineered' to accept negative things. Patty Hearst is well known to have suffered from the phenomenon. |

Ref: E Smart-- I didn't say that, but it is possible. and I have plenty of sympathy for kids, but I don't think they are perfect or never make bad judgements. Apparently you do, but as I said, I wait for Evidence before I make judgements. You don't. so here's the thing, I will just leave you stew in your own Juices about this and every other issue you waste our time with. You know precisely what I think of you, and your avatar statement just about says it all. but who the hell cares. Hensforth, spew all the garbage you wish, but I won't respond. You simply aren't worth it. Last edited by doniston; 01-16-2007 at 10:22 AM. |

Re: TWO boys.
And for the record, I quite enjoy the avatar statement, along with your wisdom, Mrs. M!
