TWO boys were rescued in St Louis, one having been missing for nearly five years. The man who had them has been arrested for Kidnapping. I know that It is much too early to learn the facts, but the following seems rational:

The older Boy had been there for years, and he didn't leave. and the Kidnapper has not been charged with any kind of sexual abuse. That doesn't mean it won't happen, but the fact that the older child did not leave during that time, nor did the Younger, leads to the real question of whether either of them were really kidnaped, or if they left home (or remained away from home) More or less voluntarily I admit there is a legal arguement that they can't legally concent. but that doesn't necessarily mean that it was against their wishes.

I will be interested to learn the full truth.

That is an incredible story, isn't it?

My understanding, from discussions I've had with others, is that the kidnapper was not registered in the state of Missouri as a sex offender, but he was registered as a sex offender in the state of Utah...

OMG! You know absolutely nothing about children, do you? Do you know how easy it is to manipulate their minds? This guy told the older boy he would kill him if he told anyone his real name and the boy believed him, just like most kids would. Why in hell would you think that these boys CHOSE to be with this man? In all likelihood, the man will be charged with rape of the children and when he's convicted, I hope he has a big roommate named Bubba while he's waiting for the chair!

The man arrested was a known sex offender (according to the news reports on TV, although I can't find that fact in print so far). This is reason to believe that he kidnapped the boys and abused him. The reasons they did not escape will come out soon enough I suppose. Perhaps the same reasons that the Elizabeth Smart did not escape. Children can be easily brainwashed. Children are inherently trusting.

Although stories of abused children make me as angry as they do you, I don't believe that two wrongs make a right. I'm not hoping Bubba is waiting for him and I'm not hoping he gets the chair. The purpose of prison is to keep predators out of society. Not to abuse them as they have abused others.

Remember the golden rule Mrs M.

I like the eye for an eye rule better in these cases.

(My step-daughter's 10-year-old cousin was raped and murdered by one of these perverts that had already spent time in jail for rape.)

I would say it is most likely that he threatened them and they where afraid to leave. These are children you know.

Well that bastard should have been in jail for life with no parole. That's what's wrong with the system. No child molesters or rapists should ever be set free.

I don't want this to turn into a death penalty debate or a debate about how its good for prisoners to be raped in prison. Ya'll know how I feel. If it's wrong for a man to abuse children then it's wrong for the state to let the man be abused in prison. If it's wrong for a man to kill another, then it's wrong for the state to hill him.

This thread is about two boys being rescued from a sex offender who kidnapped them and maybe abused them. Thank God they are alive. I hope they can recover from this trauma. I hope the kidnapper never breaths a breath of free air again. He should sit in a prison cell for the rest of his life. He should also get psycological help and perhaps someone can save his soul. But he should never be allowed back into society again as long as he lives. That's my opinion.

Or forever how short a time...
