If they look hispanic, and Speak litlle English, they get picked up. It gets usually gets straightened out, but at a cost (Time, etc) to the legal ones.

You must live in constant fear every single day of your life. It's not uncommon for people to pick up someone and detain them in order to question them for a crime they suspect they might be involved in.
The fact "IS" that it happens to be unconstitutional. (You know, Unreasonable search and ceasure/ Innocent until proven Guilty/etc.

I can see Doniston's point here. Somehow, the "reasons" only get applied to Spanish/Mexicans/minorities if you've noticed. I've never heard of a Russian/East European person being stopped because of broken English ... Have you?

Were the number of eastern europeans comparable to that of the mexicans I'm sure the same would apply.

Agreed. But going by your logic, should they also not be checked just as the Mexicans are?

I know how we can solve the problem....After proof of citizenship, we all get LEGAL tattooed on our foreheads.
Anyone without the tattoo will then be arrested and placed on chain-gangs for 5 years before being deported back.

the cops pay little or no attention to green cards, Mostly "NONE" they don't beleive they are valid and so they treat the people as tho they aren't

Photo ID cards would go a long way towards correcting the probl;ems.

really - your dead wrong.

My wife is Mexican, she was born in California - about half of her relatives live in the U.S., the rest live in and around Aguascalientes.

I have been with her for almost 20 years now.
I have never heard a SINGLE complaint from all of her family that live in the U.S. - some are citizens some have green cards.

HOWEVER - I have heard several complain how they are treated when the visit Mexico...and having been there a few times - I absolutely agree - I have felt it first hand, once you get away from the tourist areas - Mexico is a little like the old wild west...law enforcement can be as bad or worse than the criminals...it's not like the whole country is gang land, of course not...just for GOD's sake don't anything to draw attention to yourself.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not a huge fan of the police myself, but define unreasonable search? Unreasonable to whom? How do you know that the way they did the raid was unreasonable? Surely, you weren't there and I didn't see anywhere in the article that mentioned how it was conducted, unless I missed it.

Did you not read the article? As I already pointed out the article stated that there were nationals from 14 countries that were picked up in the aid, and yes, some of them were European.

Naturally, the bulk of them were Mexican and that is where the majority of the suspicion will lay because Mexicans are predominantly the ones that enter this country illegally and this raid was an hour from Mexico. To not place more emphasis on them lacks common sense and is just plain stupid.

But shouldn't suspicion also fall on the other groups of people? We were referring to what Doniston brought up, ie. Mexicans are the ones "generally" being picked upon.

Yea and walking into my country while spraying your territory is fucking a real crime to me.

How would you feel if i just walked up into your house and took your shit and acted like you were being the unreasonable one?

America isnt some kind of a immigrant haven anymore...America is a "country" with laws and a country that has its own identity...the INS was formed for a reason you know. If we were welcoming who ever whenever then there would be no need for "immigration" now would there?
