You thought wrong.

Its considered an NFA weapon, and like a full-auto firearm, they are quite legal to own as long as you've paid the proper tax.

Christ, people are assholes these days.
An armed society is a polite society, as Samuel Colt said. That again - he also wanted to sell a hell of a lot of guns.

Actually, in his defense, he answered the question.

It didn't require anything additional...

I don't carry, don't have a licence. In Sweden, it is not easy to get a licence. I have rarely felt any need for it, though, neither in Sweden, the USA, nor anywhere else.

Re: Do You Carry A Gun?

Despite being a gun owner and a very free concealed carry law in my state. One does not need a license at all, I dont carry except in the woods. I dont concern myself with carrying as it is a hassle and I havent ever been victimized. I only bother with carrying my pistol when there are bears not in hibernation.

Re: Do You Carry A Gun?

Never have, never will.
Not even when collecting money at night in the Combat Zone.
People who do carry guns are a lot more likely to get fucked up, because they act stupid, like they have some kind of special power, it's easy to spot them, and it just tells the people who want to take them out to make the first blow count.

I don't know if I've ever read a single statement more cemented in sheer and utter ignorance than that one.

I've carried a gun for over 20 years. The vast majority of the people I've interacted with over that period would be shocked to learn that I was armed at the time.

Once again you prove that you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

You're the kind of person who should probably never carry, simply because you would be your own worst nightmare...

From where on earth did you get that pile of bullshit?

If that were true, then everything the Brady Bunch has presented as a scare tactic would have come true. The fact is, people who carry daily are the single safest and most law abiding portion of the population. THAT my friend, can be proven with absolute facts, unlike YOUR position which is based in stupidity (NOT ignorance) and fear.

Wow .. for the tens of thousands plus gun owners that carry firearms legally, I sure don't hear about any mystical powers or acts of stupidity on a regular basis.

Did you get your information from the Understanding Massachusetts Liberal Thinking for Dummies book?

Re: Do You Carry A Gun?

It's just that in my own experience in the liquor business, where some salesmen carried and most didn't, the people who carry guns are more likely to get messed up, and I never knew anyone who was saved by their gun, I did know people who acted stupid with their guns and got the crap beat out of them. I've had guns pointed at me three times, the last guy was shot by the police, his gun wasn't even loaded.

Accidental gun deaths invariably involve gun owners or their family.
Suicide attempts are much more likely to succeed when a firearm is available.
Most murders are heat of the moment arguments, turned lethal by the presence of firearms. People actually defending themselves from crime with firearms is an extremely rare situation.
80 people a day are shot to death in the US, here's a breakdown.

I've had to do it once, and I would do it again in a New York minute.

Sorry, but your "arguments" are falling on deaf ears...

Everyone who carries a gun says the exact same thing, they know what they are doing, they use it to protect themselves, even when you visit them in the hospital after they have been sapped from head to toe, they tell you how it was a freak thing that was that they didn't get their piece out in time.

Hand guns are designed to kill people, if you spread them around, people will get killed by them.
I actually don't have a problem with assault weapons, it's concealable weapons that do the majority of the damage.
Today 45 people will blow their brains out because they feel suicidal and they have a gun handy, another 30 people will be murdered, mostly in fights that would have ended with a black eye or a bloody lip, except someone remembered to bring their gun. And that guy who remembered to bring his gun, will spend the next 7 years in prison, rather than nursing a bruised ego.

Somewhere a little kid is playing with his daddy's gun, ooops, he just shot the neighbor kid in the head.

And maybe, once this week, someone will truly be saved because they had their gun with them.

Gun ownership is like smoking, it a health hazard to you and your family and the people around you, and it's a choice.
