PS: I too use guns, mostly just for target practice these days. I've not hunted in some time, though I think the spring turkey season might draw me out this year.

Just because you own or use guns doesn't mean you should go around talking like some tough-guy idiot. No one is very impressed. I can't think of any one thing where people should be more responsible & most serious than when talking about guns.

I agree with you out of general principle, but notice that both massacres were carried out with legally owned handguns. Further, the gun owners got compensated by the government when they turned in their guns, and there haven't been any massacres since. Due to these facts I see no problem with this personally, and I bet that people in the U.K. are still allowed to own handguns if they are members of a shooting club.

Actually no, apart from blackpowder pistols handguns are illegal. Our olympic pistol team has to train in France.....
