Now thats funny!

Even in my socialist rathole of a country people can own all kinds of handguns whith a so-called SKV license, which can be optained after a 5 years membership of an authorised shooting club.

Re: Do You Carry A Gun?

The recent shootings in London would indicate a gun problem and a drug-related crime problem. Still, 4 murders in a couple of weeks is still sufficient to cause alarm in parliament and the country itself. Is it murder (Mardis Gras) season in New Orleans yet?

The inanimate object causes more bodily harm for sure.

Are people in Australia allowed to own handguns?

Yes they are but each state/territory has its own laws on firearms but I think they're broadly the same now.

I'm thinking:

a) it's easier to run away from a knife-wielding wacko than a gun-wielding wacko

b) you're likelier to survive a knife-attack

Outlaw knives, people will just use rocks.

Since Katrina, murder season in New Orleans is year-round.

Heard a clip on the radio earlier while out driving around about a shooting at Carnivale in Rio.

Yes, Rio is going great guns eh? And yes, sad about New Orleans. Only been there once but I had a great time (the only Hurricanes I saw were at Pat O'Brien's - I vaguely remember leaving.....)

What? New Orleans has had a problem with murder far before Katrina.

Are you sure there haven't been any massacres since??? How about the London train bombings.

Since this entire discussion has been about guns I think it's safe to assume that he's referring to gun (specifically handgun ) massacres.

You'll note the title of the thread is not " do you carry a backpack bomb ? "
