I'm just messing with you a bit. But I am interested in what you're doing & where you're going that you feel you need to be armed at all times. Very rarely do I go anyplace where I think, "Damn, I wish I had a 9mm w/me right about now." It happens occasionally, but probably only every few years. I mean, when I lived in El Salvador, I didn't leave the house w/o some protection. But I live in the 'burbs, man. The worst thing that happens here is that you get a ticket because your fucking dog barks too much.

I carry my weapon much like I carry my wallet. I've been properly trained to handle it, respect it and determine when it is appropriate to use. Thank goodness I've never had to discharge it in public, but I have thwarted a crime simply by having it.

I own guns. I just don't feel the need to carry them in public. Like I said, nothing much happens out here in the sticks. I get turkey & deer in the yard occasionally & the deer eat the flowers, but they're not armed, so I don't worry about 'em too much.

Or were you stationed there? Not the best of military towns (in terms of fun things to do; but at least KC is nearby).

I ain't been there in a year, as I used to go gambling or to Arrowhead, but down here in the Boothill, makes that a long ass drive, so I go to St Louis or the Cape!

Yes, I agree. I had to attend classes to get my first carry permit. I believe this is a good idea. The classes described incidents where a person who was legally carrying a gun goy himself in real trouble when he used it in a wrong situation. Very few states have laws that prevent use of deadly force in response to deadly force. Any other use could well be a violation. I do not intend to ever draw to threaten someone. I will if possible avoid a confrontation. When and if I ever do have to draw you can be sure only one witness will tell the tale.
