Don’t despair. I am sure there are thousands of video feeds of that and other people being slaughtered all over the net.

Yeah, nothing like popping a big bowl of popcorn and watching someone get shot at long range on video. Of course I could just watch DIE HARD for the 100th time, or half of the other movies out there to get my fill of killing, but it is so much cooler when the blood is real, don't you think?

Or maybe if I am only thirsty for blood and not death, I will turn on a hockey game, or a boxing match.

Or maybe I will just watch the Branch Davidians getting slaughtered by our own government, hey that was cool, right?

Yeah, thank God there is no violence in our media, like there is in real life.

Yes, because watching a movie where you know that all of the actors will get up and play in another one is exactly the same as watching real people get blown to pieces.

Yeah and I am the only one who is like this. No one watched the horror of 9/11, or the horrors of Katrina. No one slows down when driving by car wrecks, I guess the term rubber necker only refers to me.

How many people watched the beheading videos online? I was not one of them.

I was not really interested in seeing someone blown to bits, but to see a record breaking shot, whether the target was a human, or a ground hog, did interest me.

Call me crazy.

The net has a lot to answer for. I have to admit that actually watching people die on film etc still makes me fell sick. I am glad. I have seen the vid in question and from the distance there are really only fragments of something flying through the air. Still sickening when you think about it and even despite the fact they are alleged terrorists.

Society is being desensitized though and that is a bad thing. I want my kids to be distressed if they see someone killed or badly hurt.

It would be a lot funnier if it was your butt he was shooting instead of some an American.

{Content Edited} You gullibly swallow whatever your fed as long as it what you want to hear. That’s where your warm and fuzzies come from. The fact that you do not entertain the notion that some people do herd goats for their family instead of obtaining their weekly meat from a butcher or that the military make errors is enough proof or your ignorance.

Ps I do not necessarily dismiss the notion that the targets may be valid. I am only less willing to accept without question what is fed me by unreliable military sources.

Crisis - I've told you before, "redneck" is an insult on par with "nigger". You've been reported.

What you consider to be on par with anything is of zero significance to me even if you had told me before.
I was referred to as a liberal.
What some insular Americans fail to comprehend is that much of the rest of the world is not as hung up about political leanings as they are and do not resort to labelling others as such because of some perception they have drawn.
I no more consider my self a liberal than Hound Dog may consider himself a redneck so how does he possibly draw the conclusion I am from the one post he responded to?
Or is that level of prejudice ok with you?
Only difference is I wouldn’t go calling him a redneck normally. I made the comment to make a point. If people want to use generalisations to categorise and marginalise individuals they disagree with instead of making reasonable points then why should I have to worry about their sensibilities? How hypocritical.
Your agenda is quite clear in reporting me in any case and all the more pathetic for doing so.

Re: A poll for gun owners only

Crisis,

Don't let these people get to you.

I have been accused of being a liberal many times, for attacking Bush policies. Of course when Clinton was president, I was accused of being a right wing conservative, funny how that works.

It is sad how anxious most people are to label others.

crisis, liberal is not a dirty word. It is a description of a political stance that some people have. it is usually based on "decisions of the heart and not the head". That being the case, just what the heck are you doing on a forum that deals with "U.S. Politics"??? Maybe you should stick to a liberal Aussie site instead... there you would be free to run you anti-American mouth among people with similar viewpoints.

I am a redneck and damn proud of it. This "redneck" served his country for over 20 years. Rednecks by our very nature are proAmerican.

Have you ever worn the uniform of your country, lib???

As to how I drew the conclusion that you are a liberal is very simple... you posted "they are alleged terrorists", did you not? Do you actually think a "goat herder" would be laying concealed with a sniper rifle cradled in this arms???

Talk about being a hypocrite, you picture should be in the dictionary next to the definition.

What country were most of the hijackers from?

What country was their leader from?

What country is one of the largest state sponsors of terrorism, teaches hatred for the west in their schools, treats their women like property and is an ALLEGED ALLY of the USA?

What country is home to half the suicide bombers in Iraq?

Oh yeah, it is Saudi Arabia.

So, what punishment are we going to give Saudi Arabia for this betrayal?

Oh yeah, a 20 BILLION DOLLAR ARMS DEAL

Spiffy post. What does it have to do with the topic of the thread?

Ya know, sometimes the subject of a discussion changes. What does Canadian beer have to do with the fact that Canada put the US on a list of countries which use torture?

If you look around, you will find the thread I am referencing.

Anyways, I will try to stay more on topic in the future, but I make no promises.

Many subjects are related to other subjects. Sometimes someone will bring up a point which totally changes the conversation. When this happens it is hard to just ignore this shift and go back to the original topic.

Thanks for the lesson. While I do not adhere to a particular political philosophy I can see flaws in the logic of those who do. I would say that “decisions of the heart and not the head” can pertain to those of a conservative nature also. The adherence to dogma and status quo and inclination to resort to clichés and maxims being a sign of an inability to make a decision with ones own head.

Firstly show where and how I demonstrated my “anti American mouth”
Secondly if you could drag your head out of your insular arse you may see that this site contains many different areas. Not only those pertaining to the U.S.
Thirdly I am not so blinkered as to have to restrict myself to talking to those who only share my opinion. I am equally interested in those who don’t. Its called having an open mind.

And you dogmatically assumed that my use of that particular adjective meant that I considered him an innocent goat herder. That is blatant over sensitive paranoia. I am not anti American in any way any more than I am anti Icelandic or any country. That is basic racism and bigotry.
