GOP bloggers going nuts againt over immigration

Conservative bloggers in full revolt over immigration - CNN.com

YAWN! Who's surprised? These middle/working class GOPers are so politically gullible, they're funny.

The popular GOP stance is formed primarily by these people--working class individuals--they comprise the majority of Republicans. And their message to the party is simple: "kill all the anti-American ragheads, and deport the spics to protect our jobs!" However racist, silly and irrational that sounds, that is genuinely how they feel, which is why any candidate who sounds like he's gonna do one or both these things is guaranteed the GOP vote.

What makes these guys so hilarious, however, is that you only need to manufacture an image of a leader who wants to do that, and that's enough to get their vote. Bush succesfully manufactured that image in 2000 and 2004, i. e. the image of a tough-ass cowboyish White guy who was gonna take out the chanting turban-headed Arabs in the Middle East, and remove other annoying brown-skinned people from the US that have that have the audacity to make a living in a "White peoples" country. And that image won him the GOP vote both times.

The truth, however, is that the corporate/business elite--the ones the party really works for, only cares about getting oil deals and making money. Well, to get good oil deals, from the point of view of this elite, one needs to invade the Middle East and destroy anti-American regimes there w/big oil reserves. So politically, that part is a no-brainer to justify--just tell these working class GOPerloons that "them are ragheads out there gonna bomb us and kill our kids!! We better take em out before they take us out! HELL YEAH!" or something similar and they will cheer and clap for you.

The second part, however, is just a little harder. You see, the corporate elite the GOP works for wants to make money, but one easy way to make more money is to enact policies that guarantee the supply of cheap, exploitable labor, i. e. undocumented workers. This, unlike the raghead stance, unfortunately doesn't resonate w/the working class GOP voters.

But fear not! The basic idea is simple--during your first term as Pres, just promise you'll do something about "illegalized Mexicanes comin' across the border" (or something similar) and these working-class GOPers will cheer for you, thinking, of course, that you'll keep your promise.

This, along w/the anti-raghead propoganda above above, will cause them to vote you into a second term, period.

Then, in your second term, when you have nothing to lose politically, don't do anything about immigration or make up a weak, ineffectual immigration bill and sign it. You see that way, you keep your corporate sponsors happy, and at the same time, you got the working-class GOPerloons to get you in power so you could do it?!

GOP politics is so easy!

Re: GOP bloggers going nuts againt over immigration

It isn`t exploitation, when corporations or small enterprises engage immigrants for a few bucks, because it`s a win-win situation for both sides: Cheap labour on the one side and the first step on the ladder upwards on he other.
Immigrants are cheapo, because they aren`t very productive, but with the rise of labour and language skills, they improve their productivity and therewith their earnings.
And remember, that also the common citizen profits from cheap labour trough cheaper consumer goods.
Home care for older people can`t be afford by the middle and lower classes in germany, if there weren`t illegals (especially from eastern europa) who do this job. I think, that the same counts also for the US.

The comparison with the war on terror is ridiculous. Killing terrorists and extremists is necessary to give democracy in middle east a chance. It isn`t a fight against the arabs.
The US and their allies also challenged white people with communistic or fascistic opinions. (Thank history that they were white. Otherwise some lunacis liberals would have cried, that this is "rascism" and not a fight against totalitarianism.)

My post isn't about what's right or what's wrong. It's about how (ridiculously) easy it is to win the GOP vote by pretending to address the two primary fears of the working-class GOP voter: fear of illegal immigrants, and fear of turbanheaded Arab guys who don't like the US.

It reminds me a bit of the way democrats get elected by pretending to care about unions and working people and then institute "free" trade agreements that benefit multinational corporations at the expense of workers everywhere.

Alright, an example of a gullible GOPer. . .

rakka was one of those GOPers who voted for bush in 2000 and 2004, thinking he would be succesful in Iraq and support deporting the illegal Mexican immigrants

. . .and in the end, Iraq has become a disaster and bush has endorsed a guest worker program and amnesty for illegal immigrants!

Any more examples ?

How do you know that Rak didn't vote for Bush because the alternative was even worse?

Dems and GOPers are mostly the same thing. That's why I always vote for neither.

No offense Mrs M but although the alternative may have looked worse to almost half the voters, it's hard to see now how it actually could have been.

LOL Guess we'll never know...there's was absolutely NO WAY I would've voted for John Kerry, though!

Even thought kerry himself is a nut, it's obvious--he wouldn't have gotten the US military into the mess in Iraq.

The above post by Mrs. M is just her way of saying she'd rather not admit she !@#*ed up big at election time , as did 59,054,086 others. . .
