Terrorist Network in Los-Angeles, California

The level of terrorist threat in the Unites States is constantly going up – that's a conclusion that one may arrive at after watching evening news. The most irritable thing is that official authorities won't inform the country! Looks like the White House believes that this may help to cut off panic in the society. However, there certainly is a reason for panic. For example, in the area of Los-Angeles, California some unidentified terrorist network must be taking an action, while its activity and attacks are played off by local authorities.

Here is a close example. Last week, three people were killed and three others were badly hurt in an explosion on the edge of Ken County's Mojave airport 95 miles away from downtown Los-Angeles. The blast occurred at a private test site run by certain Scaled Composites that allegedly develops new types of propellent flow systems for SpaceShip Two project. As I was able to learn from a police officer I know, this company was a disguise for a terrorist group that was making a "dirty bomb". Something went wrong with it and they accidentally exploded themselves. As this took place, there was a discharge of toxic materials together with radioactive matter in the air, which is extremely dangerous to health of people living in the neighborhood.

There is another example. The same day some 450 passengers were evacuated from the Long Beach Airport terminal 25 miles away from downtown Los Angeles where screeners spotted a suspicious item in hand baggage (the owner of which was never found!). It took demolition specialists two hours and a half to deactivate the bomb, while it was reported afterwards that the detected item was just a... handheld game SPS! That's ridiculous! Do they really think that people are so stupid that they would believe in such a thin story? Why don't they tell us the truth? People need to know that we've got terrorists here! Let people know the truth, you bustards!

Wow, talk about dedication to a cause.

Scaled Composites went through years of research and testing to build and fly the first private spacecraft, just as a disguise for making a dirty bomb.

Ingenious.

Since there are no links to confirm the story and it has little to do with politics, I'm gonna ask the mods to move this to "off-topic".

Of course there's a terrorist network in Los Angeles; two of 'em, in fact: Crips and Bloods...

So any event that might resemble a terrorist act... is a terrorist act? You must live in a frightening world.

Would that make the Discovery Channel a terrorist supporter for airing “Black Sky – Winning the X-Prize”?

I think the OP just misunderstood the context when someone called Burt Rutan a revolutionary aircraft designer.

Re: Terrorist Network in Los-Angeles, California

The situation in WNC is escalating, people get runover by drunk illegals quite frequently. I can't imagine dealing with daily bomb threats on the scale of L.A. to that extreme degree. If things don't change, politically I guess that will be a common reality.

Yes, because everyone knows that the typical street cop is privy to TS intelligence information and will share it with any Joe Schmoe who happens along.

Thank you (and Si Modo) for your additions. I couldn't remember off the top of my head and was feeling too lazy to google.
