As an aside, I have always wondered about that. Why are American Jews so adamantly anti-gun and yet Israeli Jews are the exact opposite?

The attraction is taking responsibility for your own life rather than expecting others to do it for you.

Besides, why would you trust a government to protect you which obviously doesn't trust you to protect yourself?

Frankly, i don't understand the mentality of those who believe it is civilized to be disarmed. Throughout human history, one of the primary distinctions between free men and slaves was the ownership of weapons.
