HOW did the von Brunn nut get a rifle?

He's a convicted goddam felon.

I hear it's from the gun show loophole, which half you guys say doesn't exist.

Does it or not, and HOW can you defend it if it does. This is the kind of shit that gives you all bad names.

And the only criminal in the case (that we know of as of yet) is Von Brun. You are supposed to be able to legally acquire a gun to buy one at a gun show , so the criminal is still at fault, a criminal will lie, even if they have to fill out paperwork no one will ever actually check.

Could have been buried in his back yard for decades for all we know.

The only thing that could have stopped this was if someone at the front desk had been watching the camera in the parking lot.

There lies the problem. Heaven forbid we should make it less convenient for either prospective gun owners or gun merchants by actually enforcing restrictions designed to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill.

I'm afraid there are many gun nuts running around. Even on this site I remember a thread, talking about an armed populist assault on the White House.

Re: HOW did the von Brunn nut get a rifle?

As you are doubtless aware, ALL sales through a dealer - new or used - go through an NICS check. ALL of them. This applies to dealers at shows as well.

Sales through private parties are forbidden by law to go through NICS. Non-FFL holders have no access to the system.

Felons are already forbidden to possess a firearm

So tell us, what law would have prevented his acquisition of a firearm?

Really? Where did you hear that? The voices in your head are not a credible source.

If you have a link to the source which states that with authority and proof, let's see it. Otherwise, would you PLEASE stop running your mouth over yet more shit you do not understand?

Re: HOW did the von Brunn nut get a rifle?

I'm more worried about who he defines as mentally ill.

Theres nothing wrong with requiring a license, even requiring effort or a safety course to get it, so long as it takes a day in court to take away.

Re: HOW did the von Brunn nut get a rifle?

Of course, could it be as a criminal, he could have gotten his gun illegally?

Re: HOW did the von Brunn nut get a rifle?

Every time some kook opens fire in public, the anti-gun nuts come out of the woodwork like cockroaches. The shooter was a convicted felon that had a history of being unstable. Why didn't the liberals provide him with free mental healthcare?

Greetings and Felicitations,

Considering his known associates I would say that finding a gun wasn't a problem. The supremacists do not rely on legal channels.

Sincerely Yours,

Re: HOW did the von Brunn nut get a rifle?

To say associates implies a team effort.

It could have been as simple asking Jim Bob for something to use on them thar varmits.

Well there is one way which would be to prohibit and criminalize all peer to peer firearms transfers without going throuhg some liscenced middleman. With siezure and destruction of the firearm being the minimum punishment for such an act.
