    Somebody had to.

You want me to post the specifications on the Desert Eagle again?

Forget it John, if you don't want to defend yourself or excerise the right to do so in such a situation that's your own prerogative. To each their own.

Its if you decide tp try and restict others from defending their property and lives when it would become an issue but as this is about personal prefference, its no big deal.

I agree with you that if I were out in public while carrying concealed, a thousand different scenarios could be unfolding in front of me. A man might appear to be a criminal, but might actually be an undercover cop, for instance. There is no ambiguity if a man with a gun breaks into my home. He is going to get shot.

Do you defend yourself? Should you?
If I have a gun I'm using it.

According to the OP I don't know who they are, why they're there or even how many there are. It would be the very height of idiocy to do anything but call the police then run if I could or hide if I couldn't, even if I was armed.

This is another reason I think guns should be outlawed. Apparently, being armed makes you stupid.

The boys stopped at a convenience store and went inside and one guy distracted the clerk while the other shoplifted a case of beer. As they left the store the clerk realized what happened and he grabbed a gun and ran out the door and shot at the car as it drove away. One of the girls was shot and immediately died.

The girls had no idea what was going on - they thought the boys were old enough to buy beer.

In another case 80 miles away a boy and his date ran out of gas. He mowed the lawn of a fellow that lived nearby, and his lawnmower was there, along with his gas can. He went to get the gas can. The home owner heard the noise and shot and killed the kid. Dead over a can of gasoline! And, it was the kids own gasoline.

When I hear people talk about the security that gun ownership provides I think of those two kids.
Stupidity was involved in both of those examples. Stupidity on the part of the theives in the first one and on the clerk (shooting at the car over a case of beer is ridiculous)

The kid who got shot dead shoulda knocked first. The dumbass shouldn't have wandered onto someone's property in the middle of the night without giving them some warning. Its a good way to get yourself shot.
The homeowner was likewise a bit foolish for popping someone for coming out of his shed without calling out or something similar first. I mean he obviously had the kid dead to rights.

Shall I post some warming anecdotes of people protecting their homes and properties from those intent on doing them harm? Or could we perhaps agree that throwing out tear jerker anecdotes to make an argument is silly?

In my neck of the woods it's stupid to be creeping around someone's house with a gun.

It's a good way to get shot---before you get to the door.

more than that, according to castle law he doesn't even have to be visibly armed for me to cap his ass. Breaking and entering WILL get you killed.

It's your own fault, Traveler... but I have done it, too.

Matthew 7:6 holds true beyond just its original meaning.

And if it is cops, and you shoot the first one in the door, your chances of being able to invoke the castle defense is pretty slim.

The OP says armed MEN, not man... unless it's just two AND they're conveniently close together AND and well lit AND you're a damned good quick shot, then shooting one is just making you a good target for the other.

Who can afford steak these days? On thoses exceedingly rare occasions, we make due with rounded tip knives (no pointy knives here) and sporks.
