Who will California blame after this fails?

California is considering 10 anti-gun proposals that will leave the average Californian severely outgunned by the criminals. The Democrats have an easy majority in both congressional houses and a Democrat governor. When these fail, assuming they will pass, what will politicians blame for the increase in violent crime and the mass exodus of law abiding citizens? Will Hollywood bodyguards get to keep their high capacity magazines and CHLs?

List of Proposed California Gun Control Measures -- 500 Round Max, No Grandfathering, No Detachable Mags, Mandatory License | The Truth About Guns

Here is the list of proposals

■Possession of hollow point bullets and similar assault bullets a felony.
■Must register and report ammo purchases. Only purchase max 500 rounds.
    ■10 round magazine limit
■ALL magazines must be fixed to the gun (can not be removed without the use of a tool)
■100% prohibition of all magazines greater than 10 rounds. All previous grandfathered magazines become illegal. Felony if you keep one.
■Changing definition of shotgun revolving cylinder — Basically only single shot shotguns will remain legal.
■Bullet Buttons will become illegal — All AR and AK style rifles that are currently equipped with them will be designated Assault Weapons. Felony to possess.
■All gun owners now must be licensed like drivers.
■All gun owners must carry gun liability insurance
If somebody were to put the Constitution on a teleprompter, would 0bama read it?

I hope the Democrats keep pushing this nonsense. It bodes well for Republicans. Libs keep killing themselves off with abortions, now they will kill themselves off with lack of self defense. Pretty soon, no more libs.

When the criminals go to California, Texas will be a heck of a lot safer.

    That's asinine.

The best way to make Texas safer (not that it is inherently dangerous) is to keep the illegals on the other side of the Rio Grande.

They are trying to make Illinois look like a bastion of 2nd Amendment rights in comparison.

    Smurf,
The maps in Mexican school rooms are different than ours.

Pardon my coarse language, but who gives a fuck what they think the maps should look like?

The Rio Grande is the legally recognized border, and if Mexico wants anything north of it, they are welcome to come and try to take it.

I could solve our immigration, employment, and oil problems in one fell swoop: amass at the border and push them all back to where the land becomes the narrowest, and then build a wall running roughly north-south.

Texas and California are good for making comparisons. They are about the same size, both share a border with Mexico, both have access to oceans, both have lots of agriculture, both have diverse climates.

The biggest difference (besides a little extra heat in TX Summers) is the politics. Texas is growing at twice the rate of California and we don't have budget issues and we can keep our guns here. I suspect we will see an increase in crime in CA if these proposals become law. I hope the rest of the country see the similarities and differences and take note.

I figure they'll blame all the businesses that moved to Texas.

    I'm betting it'd be Bush's fault.
If a man were behind four months on his mortgage and was talking to you about his plans to build an addition on his home you would think him daft and delusional. But in Washington, ignoring a current crisis to discuss grand dreams is called “boldness” and “vision.”

The funny thing to me. Is there is not one damn place in the country where big control laws have made that place safer or lowered the crime rate more than a place without big gun control iniatives. Which furthers my point, to believe, that safety is not the objective, but elimination of privately owned guns in their entirety. What other explanation could there be to support this kind of lunacy.

Canada been there, done that. We've got a thread: A Warning From A Canadian On Gun Registration
