There was absolutely nothing to be gained by going outside where the potential intruder was.

So she tried the home defense methods of our Vice President endoresed and was killedd for it, imagine that.

NY cops are quick to riddle people with bullets... its as if they think armed force is a viable option that is far more effective then waiting and talking things out.

Sometimes best to wait and see, one perp may flee when another may hide waiting to escape, stumble across them an you could get killed or hurt. Certainly sso when the police show up in under an hour.

None of these "innocent victims" would ever hurt a fly.

But this woman owns a gun and is outside, armed, actively prosecuting the threat.

I agree with Soot.

Ms. Towler did not deserve to die for her missteps... but she gave the officers plenty of reasons to fire. Don't get me wrong, it does sound like the officer might have fired off a round prematurely, but I can see how someone walking around in the back yard, with a gun, and at night could be perceived as a threat to somoene in the house.

Granted, the lady was old and apt to make some mistakes, but she paid the ultimate price for the mistakes she made, didn't she.

It's tragic and I understand the children's anger. What I cannot cotton to, however, is the son's fracturing of the English language... SOME things even I can't forgive.
