I'd have to see a link to a news story or something before I believe this as true BUT taking what you say as at face value for the moment; I don't think any of us would want to get treatment from a doctor that was forced into the profession.

If pure market forces can't lure people into the profession and the govt. has to force or compel people into it then that makes me question the kind the health care I might get from such a doctor.

Eh, teachers get special tuition help. Is that bad?

Probably. Its not like there is a shortage of teachers, just a shortage of good teachers. That is because of the NEA, the local unions and the pernicious influence of professional teacher training at colleges.

this is what happened in the USSR and across the eastern bloc. kids got funneled to this profession or that. of course docs did get the big bucks and s they failed on these five year plans as well. they tended to send females that way.

Really?......I put todays doctors right up there with electricians, mechanics, teachers, etc. They are now a compromised lot, it seems (to me).
