I believe you're reading the numbers wrong. Out of 35,000,000 HPV vaccinations given, there were 18,727 reports of adverse effects. In other words, only 0.05% of people who receive the vaccination report adverse effects. Of that 0.05%, 8% were serious effects. 68 deaths were reported out of the 35 million people who received the vaccination, so about 0.0002% of the people who got the vaccination ended up dying.

There were 54 reports among females, 3 were among males, and 11 were reports of unknown gender. Thirty two of the total death reports have been confirmed and 36 remain unconfirmed due to no identifiable patient information in the report such as a name and contact information to confirm the report. A death report is confirmed (verified) after a medical doctor reviews the report and any associated records. In the 32 reports confirmed, there was no unusual pattern or clustering to the deaths that would suggest that they were caused by the vaccine and some reports indicated a cause of death unrelated to vaccination.

A big problem with those who oppose vaccines of any kind is just what you stated above, they don't read the numbers and clarifying information accurately. As a result, they lobby to drop the mandatory use of things such as small pox vaccines, MMR's, etc. and if enough people follow that line of thinking, we'll end up undoing all the progress we've made throughout the years because all epidemics and pandemics start with one case.

The scare about the MMR vaccine causing autism was the result of a fraudulent junk science paper published in the journal Lancet and crooked Dumocrat politician Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is in the pocket of the trial lawyers, jumping on the bandwagon.

And the current scare about the HPV vaccine is probably just as sinister.

The only thing I don't like about the public HPV vaccination programs is that they are excluding boys. I mean, why should the girls get vaccinated but not the boys? Seems discriminatory to me.

Well, I must stand corrected. But 18,727 events reported to VAERS is still pretty bad. Consider the drug ephedra, banned by the FDA in 2004. How many deaths were linked to it? Certainly less than 68. And as you pointed out these deaths were after a doctor had made a careful determination and found a link. I think all vaccines should be used as intelligently and as safely as possible, and when complaints are made they should be listened to.

.05% is a pretty good success rate for 'adverse reactions', but I think we could do better.

Well, remember that 92% (about 17,229) of that the 18,727 reports of adverse effects were classified as "non-serious". So, I wouldn't necessarily say it's "pretty bad". Even something like Nyquil comes with the risk of non-serious adverse effects.

Not sure, but I'd imagine they're not putting in just for fun. At least, I'd hope not.

Exactly. I work for a CRO (Clinical Research Organization). Many of the clinical trials come with a percentage of the patients reporting adverse reactions. The type and degree are documented according to protocol and FDA regulations. Serious adverse reactions are documented and escalated whereas appropriate.

The success rate for the HPV vaccine is pretty damn excellent.

The OP is full of factual mis-statements and irrelevant red herrings. The premise of the thread is flawed.

An ignorance vaccination is clearly needed.

155 cases cited when they banned it. It also didn't prevent disease. Unless you consider having a couple extra pounds, or getting tired, diseases.

HPV is also linked to penis cancer in males. And genital warts in both males and females.
