Meat is Toxic and Addictive. Shoul the Government Regulate It?

    Processed meat 'early death' link

Sausages, ham, bacon and other processed meats appear to increase the risk of dying young, a study of half a million people across Europe suggests.

It concluded diets high in processed meats were linked to cardiovascular disease, cancer and early deaths.

The researchers, writing in the journal BMC Medicine, said salt and chemicals used to preserve the meat may damage health.

The British Heart Foundation suggested opting for leaner cuts of meat.

The study followed people from 10 European countries for nearly 13 years on average.
I guess the moral of the story is, if it tastes good, the government should ban it.

    Grrrr. Go FOAD government.
If a man were behind four months on his mortgage and was talking to you about his plans to build an addition on his home you would think him daft and delusional. But in Washington, ignoring a current crisis to discuss grand dreams is called “boldness” and “vision.”

From one perspective, being born is bad for your future. Perhaps we should just go to the source of our problems with death and ban births. No birth, no death.

A simple basis for a healthy diet: If it tastes good, spit it out.

They are not asking for a ban they are just suggesting people might want to limit themselves.
They can't ban bacon and sausages as they are the main part of a Full English Breakfast and they would face a full on revolution if they ever tried.
