Re: The moon landing

I think the reason the moon landing was faked was due to Jewish world bankers and alien bigfoots.

Or possibly alien world bankers and Jewish bigfoots (bigfeet?).

I haven't checked here in a long time.

Re: The moon landing

My bottom line is twofold:

a) I don't believe the government capable of a multi-decade, multi-people conspiracy of lies for no actual purpose.

b) It's not particularly unbelievable that we landed on the moon - it's really not that much of an accomplishment.

I don't know why it's so important for some people to believe that we DIDN'T go to the moon.

Re: The moon landing

This thread appears to have a life of its own. I agree the level of conspiracy required makes it difficult if not impossible to pull off. Thousands of folks involved, many of whom have been on thier death bed, and nary a peep. Even the Soviets played along.

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter did manage to snap some pictures of the Spirit rover a while back, check it out:

APOD: 2006 December 6 - Spirit Rover on Mars Imaged from Orbit

A simailar Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter is scheduled for late 2008 liftoff. It will have 1 meter resolution on it's cameras, perhaps it can get a photo of one of the Apollo decent stages left behind.

Repeating your previous, underwhelming 'argument' is equally underwhelming.

Re: The moon landing

Here's something someone just showed me.

YouTube - Apollo 11: The TV Transmission Conspiracy Theorists Hate!

Start watching at the 50 second mark. The jacket Collins is wearing flaps the way it would in earth gravity. It's being pulled down. This footage was shot on earth.

Re: The moon landing

I didn't know the moon didn't exert gravitational pull. Consider me converted!

Actually, it flaps the way it would if someone was shaking around in it in zero gravity in space. It's especially hilarious how you're asking us to focus on the jacket flapping and to ignore the two guys floating around in zero gravity.

I can see how that would fool the untrained eye....

Their feet can't be seen. How can you say they are floating?

Collins' up and down movement would cause the lower corner of the jacket to go upward. There is no identifiable force stopping it except gravity.

Re: The moon landing

Here's something I just came across.

YouTube - Discovery Crew Enters International Space Station
(first ten seconds and last 30 seconds)

YouTube - Apollo 11: The TV Transmission Conspiracy Theorists Hate!
(50 second mark)

The corners of the jacket the woman astronaut is wearing in the first clip behave very differently from the corner of the jacket Collins is wearing in the second clip.

The space station astronaut is in zero-gravity and Collins is in gravity.

Because her jacket is being held up by her fanny pack.
His jacket is bouncing around because he's bouncing around.

Right. In zero-gravity nothing floats up since density and mass are irrelevant to ability to float. Other forces are the relevant ones.

Right. It's transfer of energy.

I thought the moon-hoaxers died away long ago. I am abviously wrong.
