Why would any president be added to the four on Mount Rushmore. The sculpture is finished, isn't it? You wouldn't want any other historical work of art to be amended, would you?

I believe it would be a better idea to build or sculpt other monuments on other sites.

Historically challenged indeed.....

The Federal Reserve system was established by the Federal Reserve Act in December, 1913.

http://www.federalreserve.gov/GeneralInfo/fract/

Furthermore, just three years later after Wilson signed the act, he realized what a mistake he had made and made the following quote regarding the very act that he signed.

Quote:
"A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated (in the Federal Reserve System). The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men.... We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world-no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men."
So you were correct about one thing. One of us is historically challenged. Unfortunately for you, it isn't me.

Don't forget the part about it being a PRIVATE corporation, not a part of the US Government.

You said Debt spending wasn't allowed until 1913 with the Federal Reserve Bank, but that was the second national bank, there had been a national bank before that and debt spending had been allowed, how do you think Lincoln financed the Civil War?
Check out the National Debt link, it goes back to 1791.

Debt spending was never allowed until Woodrow Wilson created the Federal Reserve in 1913.
Was that before or after this was written:

Quote:
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;
Sounds to me like borrowing was allowed from the moment the the creation of the Union (technically before since the new Federal Union assumed many of the existing debts of the Confederacy)

Re: No Democrats on Mount Rushmore.

I guess us Democrats have to settle for the nickel, the dime and the Half dollar.
While the Republicans get the penny.
Because 10,000 years from now, those coins will be in museums, but Mt. Rushmore will have crumbled away.

I do too, but not when it involves changing a finished work of art.

I'd rather see a Mount Rushmore, part 2, sculpted on another cliff with the heads of four other Presidents.

Which four Presidents post Theodore Roosevelt would you like to see? Let me start by suggesting Herbert Hoover, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Truman, and Ronald Reagan. That makes two R's and two D's.
