9/11 conspiracy theories

There are many conspiracy theories that fly around that fateful day.

Some are credible.

The most poinient one is that whilst the first two planes would take the country by surprise, how could a passenger plane fly across the airspace of the most powerful military power in the world for well over an hour unchallenged?

Why did the FBI confiscate all cctv footage that would have shown a plane flying towards the pentagon, and if there was a reason why havn't they released them so the conspiracy theories are proved wrong?

Where was the wreckage?

Why does the one cctv video show a small white object flying parralel to the ground about 2 to 4 metres up not compliant with a massive jet plane flown by an amatuer pilot?

Where was the crater?

If you look at other plane crashes the devastation is far, far different. Why does it appear so clinical?

Re: 9/11 conspiracy theories

There have been dozens of 9/11 conspiracy threads here.

The Pentagon crash has been discussed at length.

Personnel from my fire station responded to the Pentagon. Men I know personally worked there amid the aircraft wreckage.

An airliner hit the Pentagon. Period.

End of story.

Re: 9/11 conspiracy theories

BTW, Anyone familiar with professor Kevin Barrett from the University of Wisconsin? This cat appears to be some type of conspiracy buff who pretty much believes what these dudes are spewing out on this forum. Been some controversy surrounding his continued employment in the university classroom:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Barrett

Quote:
Kevin James Barrett (born February 1959) is an associate lecturer and 9/11 conspiracy theorist.[1]

Barrett currently holds a one-semester appointment as an associate lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.[2] He is scheduled to teach an introductory class on Islam, in which he plans to spend one week or two weeks of the 16-week class teaching about the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack and the War on Terrorism. Controversy erupted when it became known Barrett was planning to incorporate conspiracy theories into his lectures.[3] It has since been determined by an internal university probe that "although Mr. Barrett presented a variety of viewpoints, he had not discussed his personal opinions in the classroom." [4] Kevin Barrett is a member of the Scholars for 9/11 Truth.[5]

Yes, and they all are stupid.

We weren't in the business of 'challenging' commercial flights.
Quote:

They released the pentagon footage and the Citgo gas station footage. They have the DoubleTree hotel footage, and that will eventually be released. The FBI does not own the footage, so they have no legal right to show it to the public, it must be released back to the owner and then they must decide whether it can be shown.
Quote:
Where was the wreckage?
All over the lawn and inside the building.

The 'small white object' matches a Boeing 757 perfectly, from that distance and angle.
Quote:
Where was the crater?
It didn't smash straight into the ground, so no crater.
Quote:

Other plane crashes didn't fly straight into reinforced concrete at incredibly high speeds.

Actually, there were HUNDREDS of planes that flew across that airspace for well over an hour on that dreadful day. And yes, not a single one of them was shot down out of the sky, as perhaps you were hoping. In fact, many of them successfully landed at various airports, having been directed to do so as quickly as they could by the FAA. You were perhaps hoping they all would have been summarily gunned down instead?

BTW, do you think it might help your credibility, as well as the advancement of your conspiracy theory, if you learned the correct spelling of the word "poignant"?

Just a suggestion....

Re: 9/11 conspiracy theories

So, five years after the event, you join a new forum to post the same shit that has been rehashed time and time and time and time and time and time... again. You're more than a little late to the party.

Where's ABD when we need a really good nut job?

If that's the case, why don't you present one? All you've done is ask questions, which all have reasonable answers. A bunch of questions don't constitute a 'theory'.

This is the key right here. The Pentagon is triple, top secret, top of the line reinforced and strong. Plus the shape of it even, prevents collapse or walls caving in...

The only conspiracy theory that has any legs whatsoever is the one that says the Bush admin saw it coming, ignored the warnings, didn't prepare, didn't alert the airlines, didn't alert the FAA or NORAD....and let it happen so they could have their "Pearl Harbor" that they (PNAC) have said they needed so they could invade Iraq.

That's the only conspiracy theory that makes sense to me.

And that's pretty much the only conspiracy theory that would be very difficult to disprove.

Re: 9/11 conspiracy theories

I don't put any stock in the consiracy theories. However, I feel 9/11 was seen as an excellent opportuninty to justify the war in Iraq, as unrelated as the two seem to me. The war was desired long before 9/11, the event was the excuse to push it through.

Biggest problem with any of the consiracy theories, all involved must keep the secret. Clinton couldn't keep the Monica thing secret, and it involved only two - how would a conspiracy to plot 9/11 be kept secret with the hunderds that would have been involved?

John Kerry and the Democrats didn't agree with you. As you know, the overwhelming majority of the Democrats in Congress voted to authorize the Commander-in-Chief to wage war in Iraq. Furthermore, John Kerry spoke at great length about the threat that Saddam Hussein represented, and warned us that Hussein had WMDs.
