Re: Veterans/Armistice Day
excellent danno you beat me to it......the causes may not always be righteous, but not withstanding, the troops have always been the best of us....the "great" generation, will be laid to rest in the next 10 years......and god keep them ......
I was wondering what a vet from say iwo jima or Okinawa would think of the fact that we have been in Iraq for over 3 years and have sustained 2900 casualties, when on either one of those islands, the looses amounted to that much in a week..... One could say its the cause that makes losses sustainable or not….but frankly who knows until the battle is over or history has judged….the verdict is not in re; Iraq….it may have more far reaching consequences good or bad yet realized…..…..our foray in Iraq may not have turned out well as it appears now, but I will bet theirs not a service member among them that would trade the experience for anything else…..trust me…..

Re: Veterans/Armistice Day
As an FYI, Congress recently designated an "official" WWI museum. It is located in Kansas City, just a stone's throw south of downtown Kansas City. It is an incredible memorial to this history, and because it's only been open a few months, all of the interactive gadgets are still in working order.
![]() I invite you all to KC to see this magnificent remembrance. I have not yet seen the nation's WWII Museum in New Orleans. Any opinions?
