Pyramids were built with concrete rather than rocks, scientists claim

The Ancient Egyptians built their great Pyramids by pouring concrete into blocks high on the site rather than hauling up giant stones, according to a new Franco-American study.

The research, by materials scientists from national institutions, adds fuel to a theory that the pharaohs’ craftsmen had enough skill and materials at hand to cast the two-tonne limestone blocks that dress the Cheops and other Pyramids.

All those documentaries I watched on this subject were wrong?!!!!
I guess it does make a lot more sense that it was poured rather than something done by aliens! (Or was it the Illuminati?)

interesting......I wonder if they have investigated anywhere else but the plateau of Giza?..there are over 100 Pyriamds that are known to exist..some are very good shape like Cheops and his son, Kephrens, some not so, I'd like them to go and check earlier samples....document just when this method stared as a matter of historical context..

I was not aware of this. I have been under the impression it has always been easy to discern a stone from concrete (granted that I have never given the subject much thought). This gives plausibility to the story, I mean, if it would be easy to discern any stone from any concrete, this discovery would have been made ages ago.

Actually this is also the problem I have with this story (Well not actually a problem- but I will reserve judgent until I learn more.

You seen natural stone would consist of layers and a pattern of sorts. If you ever poured concrete you will find that the slurry is rather uniform, and the same throughout that particular pouring. natural limestone would consist of layers, which would not be present in a pouring. (except the liniation between pourings.)
