USPOL Historical Document Archives

Even though I've been a member for several years now I've only just discovered the USPOL Document Archive section, which contains tonnes of historical primary source materials. From speeches, to writings and musings, to books. I just want to say Marc: GREAT JOB! What a wonderful in-house library resource. I can see that I'll be spending a lot of time ploughing through the terrific reading material there. It gives me an idea too, which I thought I'd pose to other lovers of history to see whether it's worthwhile doing or not. Should we start our own USPOL "book club" of sorts, whereby each week we read and muse one of the primary texts in the document archive, and have a discussion about its content, writing, historical value, etc? Would anyone else be interested?

Re: USPOL Historical Document Archives

I would love to see something like that get going. The idea had been brought up before and we added "Book Club" down a couple of sections. WEB was kinda in charge of it last time, which may have been part of the problem. We could always try again

BTW, for anyone who hasn't found it...it's up on the top bar next to "chat"...It's called "Document Archives"

It does sound enticing; count me in if anyone is interested.
I'd give it a try.

I never saw that, either. I would like the book of a week club.

By the way, what if we have sources for more documents, how can we get those added to the list? Also, Aristotle was a prolific and diverse scholar; many of his non-philisophical works are listed as "philosophy." This doesn't matter unless you are searching by genre, but how do we change it?

Who compiled this list, by the way, it is great!

Marc compiled the list. I'm not sure where he got it from. He also the only one who can add to it or make any changes to it. I don't have the admin permissions required to make adjustments to anything on the navigation bar.
