I best describe myself as post-Catholic.

Re: What religioon are you?

Agnostic with atheist conversational points. My parents released me from the obligations of attending religious services at age 12, when neither they or the church could answer any of my questions regarding dogma without constantly resorting to the word faith. I had discovered science fiction books.

Re: What religioon are you?

I was raised in the Quaker and Catholic institutions and educations systems, so I have a fusion of both traditions, taking what I feel is their relative strong points.

I agree with this point. At least Catholicism wise, for myself. I tend to feel pretty guilty sometimes.

Catholic guilt doesn't even come close to Jewish guilt.

Re: What religion are you?

Raised Presbyterian. Converted to Catholicism in my late 20s. I attend regularly and have brought my kids up in the church. Staunch supporter of church state separation. My faith is sketchy at best but my priest tells me his is sometimes too.

I'm be curious to know what you mean by "trying to figure out the nature of the compulsion?" Could be an interesting discussion.

Re: What religion are you?

Either Jedi ( because I like to Follow the Herd ) - ohhh ! Apparantly in New Zealands last census 3% of the population stated they were Jedi !

Or a Later Day Beni Gesserit.

I am utterly disheartened / dissillusioned by all organised religion.

Re: What religion are you?

I'm Christian (although some may argue that ) but I don't follow a specific teaching or church. Having witnessed false churches, I understand why God said "beware of false prophets and churches".

I believe in a higher power and I also believe in science, I just believe that mankind doesn't have a clue as to what we don't know yet about the universe & life and of their creation.
