You would think that if you are Black you would be proud to be black and proud of that skin color. According to the article and studies released that simply is not true.

This a very sad state of affairs considering we live in the 21st century. As someone who has never seen color as what makes someone who they are it bothers me greatly. When I was young, I dated black women and other skin colors as well as white. For some reason I always believed that a black woman was much sexier and in many ways more mysterious than a white woman. I found out that my mother and father were both closet bigots when they met a woman I wanted to marry. Sadly they were the cause of us splitting up, they made it so rough on me for dating her that I had to choose between them and my family or her and stupidly I did leave her. I wonder sometimes what my life would have been like if I had left my family instead.

Either way this is wrong, what they are showing in the article. Color of the skin does not make your dumb or smart, beautiful or ugly. Only the person inside that skin can do that.
It's just one of the realities of human existence.

There will ALWAYS be discrimination amongst us, there always has been. People base their judgements of other people on MANY different aspects, the main being appearances. We complain about "racism" or "sexism" etc etc and ignore/forget the other ones that are so obvious... and more common. Short people, tall people, fat people, skinny people, ugly people (what IS "ugly" anyways ?).

We are even judged by others based on our mannerisms, our vocabulary, the sound of our voices, the color of our hair, the shape of our nose - our eyebrows .... on and on and on.

We all complain about it and don't like this part of human existence, but there it is, even inside ALL of us no matter how much we don't care for it.

No, please explain why WE have such huge doses of low self-esteem.

    ahoy Wlessar,

the color 'o one's skin doesn't make one dumb or smart, thats fer sure.

the husk that we be covered in does, however, often factor in to what we think be beautiful or ugly, as ye more or less conceded in yer own OP.

the color 'o one's skin can also be an aide or a deterrent in helpin' us reach the goals that each 'o us have in our lives.
ie - if i want to join the Augusta National Golf Club, it sure helps if imma not black.

Generally, low self esteem comes from setting high standards and then using them more to beat oneself up than to try and improve..."..A man's reach should always exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?" as Browning said. But that means that failure is part of life as much as success and you should "treat those two impostors just the same" (what do you call it when one overquotes? Pretentious asshole is apt but just sounds icky)

My reading on racial anthropology indicates that the first people were black as could be to guard from the African sun and evolved more to whiteness and other colors as they needed solar radiation to make Vitamin D more than Melanin to shield from the Tropical heat. Charcoal black people, therefore, are the oldest race with the wisdom of the ages, while their alabaster toned brothers have the optimism of youth as their heritage. How wonderful the world is, in always providing exactly what we need in perfect balance.

Mate selection over generations can affect intelligence though. A subgroup that selects mates for intelligence will tend to be more intelligent after many generations than a subgroup that selects mates for other factors. We don't have a problem saying the South is dumber than the North. We shouldn't be squeamish about observing other cultural differences too.

There's a lot of genetic selection going on, on a non-racial basis. In our increasingly technological society, the intelligent are breeding primarily with other intelligent people, while dumb people are breeding primarily with other dumb people. That's going to create a genetic divide much more difficult to solve than any mere income inequality problems we have today.

Gettin' even wit da man ...

Here we have some dumb-ass jigs beating a white man nearly to death.

Racism seems to be alive and well in America

    -------------

Parker says one of them said "Now thats justice for Trayvon." Trayvon Martin is the unarmed teenager police say was shot and killed February 26 by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Samford, Florida.

Parker says 20 people, all African American, attacked her brother on the front porch of his home, using "brass buckles, paint cans and anything they could get their hands on."

I will spearhead what I can to help you join if you were black and they declined you on that fact.

Me, they would throw me out because I would probably need a 1000 handicap to play. All that waste of good Football fields.

I will have to find some of the articles I have read in this direction.

Basically white people are the end result of dilution of the race. You can put a white woman and man together and never the two will ever produce a darker child.
Blacks still have the masterful mix of the ages in their genetics and you can put 2 medium black people together and they will produce everything from a coal black child to one that is as white as any European.

Another Study I need to dig up.

A 20 year study in England proved that as long as the Mother is intelligent the Father contributes almost 0 to the intelligence level of the child. The man can be dumb as a rock but if you have an intelligent mother the kids will be intelligent and beyond the mother. My own personal life is proof. My father, good man though he is more or less is not very intelligent. My mother is very intelligent and I surpass her by a long way.

Similarly, I don't want to sink into the morass of collective self-pity that suggests this society has not done anything about racism. America has done a lot towards defeating racism but, unfortunately, the media is on the hunt for anything that sells newspapers so any time something like the Martin killing comes up, they hover like vultures over a dead cow in the desert, trying to make the racist in our culture float to the top like a turd in the pool.

Resist, is my counsel. There are those who profit by diminishing us into believing we're all racists.

Resist, but do what you can to fight it if you see it.
And.........IMO, the next step in the advancement of blacks is one they need to take themselves. Some of them know it full well. MLK would be appalled if he came back to "witness".
Take a good hard look, it's coming.
