I love it. God forbid we have a Constitution and laws which protect rights rather than restrict them.

Birth control procedures are wholly elective outside of the rare possibility of being necessary due to other conditions and forcing private enterprises to provide coverage for such services is a straight up violation of everything that the Constitution stands for.

Due to the business employing over 50 people they are required to provide health care insurance to their employees. Obamacare mandates that contraception including abortion type contraception must be included in the health care package offered. This family of Roman Catholics is told to either give up their religion or sell the business. To me this is a blatant violation of the 1st Amendment.

This has been an argument for several months, now, only previously it wasn't the private businesses but those operated by the Catholic Church.

This man, this inexperienced man, has no business being president of the United States. It offends me he is so arrogant.

I disagree.

It would only be a violation of the first amendment if they were forced to practice birth control against their religion.

To provide a medical benefit that includes something that they have chosen not to do is not a violation of their rights.

I guess we will have to let the courts settle this. What right does the government have to force an employer to provide any benefit?

In his order, Colorado District Judge John Kane said that the government’s arguments “are countered, and indeed outweighed, by the public interest in the free exercise of religion."

Seems that some Judges actually look at the Constitution when weighing decisions rather than be activists.

The arguments of the company are flawed. Everyone is beholden to the law wether you believe that law is right or not.

If I adhere to a religion that is against a minimum wage, that does not mean I should not pay my employees the minimum wage.

Also I find this employer very creepy. My medical problems are private.

Yes your medical problems are private. Not having contraception is NOT a medical problem.

As far as laws go. If a law is UnConstitutional you are not obligated to follow it.

My religious beliefs are that everyone should simply give me their money and allow me to deflower their virgin daughters., Please send me your money or have your daughter bring it, I don't care.

Don't want to do that....Wah Wah then you are violating my first amendment rights.

You obviously know what strawman is. Your statement is a perfect example. Since all you can do is throw a strawman around you obviously cannot support your position.

It has long been established that your Rights stop when you violate someone elses. In this case your argument you would be violating the daughters and therefore their Rights. The company is NOT hurting anyone or violating their Rights by not wishing to provide a health plan that includes contraceptives including ones that cause very early abortions.

What about the company violating the employees rights to having access to birth control and abortions.

The company is not denying them anything. They are just saying they shouldn't have to pay for something that violates their religion. The employees can buy all the birth control and abort all the babies they want. Just don't ask me to pay for it.

The first amendment seems like a pathetic fallback here. Being forced to buy products against our will violates rights far more fundamental than the freedom of religion.
