napolitano hasn't read the AZ bill either

Another example of the incompetence from this administration

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano admits she hasn't read the Arizona immigration law, but passed judgment on it anyway. "That's not the kind of law I would have signed," she declared.

"I believe it's a bad law enforcement law. I believe it mandates and requires local enforcement and puts them in a position many do not want to be placed in," Napolitano said. "When I was dealing with laws of that ilk, most of the law enforcement agencies in Arizona at that time were opposed to such legislation," she claimed.

    ....where's the incompetence?

or is it just that when you disagree with someone you immediately classify them as incompetent?

Well...most people would call someone incompetent when they are speaking about something in which they have no knowledge of. Especially when that information is readily available.

A person in such a high government office is incompetent IF they don't bother to read a law before making false misleading statements about it.

Maybe that is being competent in you book and if so I know you are very happy with this ruinous administration.

I am more inclined to call it an act of irresponsibility, as in the case of the esteemed AG Holder. These people have an agenda, and reading bills simply is not a part of it. (This pattern continues, as in the case of congressional members' approach to the HC bill).

I'm stunned, I thought democrats liked signing laws they haven't read.

Because, of course, it's only her at the OHS, and she has no staff that can read it, analyze it and brief her on it.

Fine. Let them go before the cameras to discuss it with the press.

You don't really think that any of these Obama cabinet members are any good at what they are supposed to be doing, or that they care about the law, do you?

This was at a hearing about the oil spill, and Senator Sid McCrashcup was the one who brought it up to her.

It's not like she called a press conference on it herself.

Regardless, she should not have opened her mouth about it except to say that she had not read the law. There is something not quite right about not expecting our gov't officials to know that the hell they are talking about before they open their mouths. It is simply not appropriate.

Of course. No one should expect anything less of them.

I'm not saying that she should have; rather I'm commenting on the clownish idea that this somehow represents 'incompetence'.
