    AZ Governor speaks out in strong words.

    AZ Governor using strong words defending law and the state.

    In the video:

    "No senior members of this administration has even spoke to us"
    "I have written several letters and emails to the White House and Homeland Security, none were answered"
    On what the President has been saying - "It is disturbing that all we are hearing is misrepresentation and rhetoric throughout this..."
    "Racial profiling is illegal in AZ, there is nothing in this law that changes that"

    A talk show host I was listening to yesterday commented on this seemingly unbelievable phenomenon of senior admin officials (including B.O.) not having read the monster ten page Arizona law. He said, if they admit to having read it, they could then be questioned about it, and it would come to light that it is nothing even close to what they're claiming it is. Kinda makes sense.

    But, don't they make themselves look even stupider by railing against it, while at the same time claiming to not have read it?

    I am afraid the Admin. is just playing poltical games. In order to benefit from it, they hope. But they may very well be on the wrong side of the argument. Which may cost them, on down the road. For me, I hope it does cost them. And any other Admin. that does not push to defend and uphold our laws. We are living the the Crazy Years, as written about by Robert Heinlein, back in the 30's He saw it coming. And funny that he was a sci fi writer, yet got this right. Blue Doggy

    Having read the text of the Arizona law and its revision, I see no racial profiling in the law.

    That the Governor of Arizona is perhaps being ostracized by Obama's Washington is further cause for alarm at what we have there in D.C.

    Law enforcement nationwide utilizes a legitimate crime-fighting method known as offender profiling, whereby the police obtain a profile of the perpetrator and provide it to patrol officers who then keep an eye out for suspicious behavior matching the profile of the offender.

    For example, a woman is walking down the street and passes an alley where a man wearing a mask jumps out at her from behind a dumpster, hauls her back behind it and rapes her, telling her not to resist and be quiet lest he would kill her. After he leaves she goes to the police and tells them that he had olive brown skin, knew very little English, and spoke with an accent that linguistic specialists on the force determine to be Mexican.

    Officers then keep an eye out for suspicious behavior, perhaps overhearing someone bragging, whatever, from an individual who matches the offender profile.

    That doesn't mean everyone who matches the physical description of the rapist is the rapist, but if someone matches that offender profile and behaves relevantly suspicious, he is rationally questioned by law enforcement.

    Though few would argue that weeding out suspects in this rape case on the basis of skin color, broken English, and accent were acts of racial profiling, I can't help but wonder on what rational basis some actually think that ignoring the fact that well over 99% of those entering America illegally from our southern border have brown olive skin, know very little English, and most definitely speak with an accent. These people are offenders, and profiling them as such is a matter of offender profiling, not racial profiling.

    The Governor of Arizona is right: there is no racial profiling in the new law, and, the revision makes it clear that only people who are stopped in suspicion of a crime (like drug running, human trafficking, actually giving evidence of having crossed the border illegally, traffic violations, etc.) will be stopped and, when they fit the legitimate offender profile, asked to show papers (like a driver's license) legitimizing their authorization to be in America.

    The problem is that, coincidentally, nearly all of the offenders do fit a particular national/racial identification .. an identification that similar-origined others of legitimate and long-term residence here then experience as a threat to themselves and their friends and family.

    Indeed, not everyone who matches the physical description of the illegal aliens is an illegal alien, but if someone matches that offender profile and behaves relevantly suspicious, he is rationally questioned by law enforcement.

    But that doesn't mean there is any racial profiling involved in the Arizona law.

    Only offender profiling is supported by the Arizona law.

    And that's a nationally legitimate crime-fighting method.

    And the national/racial coincidence in the offender profile is irrelevant.

    Head of ICE hasn't done shit to help Arizona with their IA problems, ever consider that? You just gotta love someone who can't or won't do a job and then criticizes someone else who wants to try their hand at it.
