US Attorney's Annual Report notes increase in border violence

Here's the report but I want to point out two paragraphs in particular:

Violence along the border of the United States and Mexico has increased dramatically during recent years. The violence associated with Mexican drug trafficking organizations pose a serious problem for law enforcement. Mexican drug cartels have taken over some of the drug
trade in the United States, and are working with several gangs according to a report by the National Drug Intelligence Center entitled National Drug Threat Assessment 2009. According to this threat assessment, Mexican drug trafficking organizations represent the greatest organized crime threat to the United States and the influence of Mexican drug trafficking organizations over domestic drug trafficking is unrivaled.

Illegal immigration provides the initial foothold with which criminal elements,
including organized crime syndicates, use to engage in a myriad of illicit activities
ranging from immigration document fraud and migrant smuggling to human trafficking. Federal prosecution of border crime is a critical part of our Nation’s defense and federal jurisdiction over these offenses is exclusive. Proactive border law enforcement is an important component of our
counterterrorism mission because it is known that terrorist organizations utilize cross-border criminal activity as a source of revenue and that smuggling organizations offer terrorists easy access to the United States.
Somebody in this administration knows that illegal immigration is a significant problem yet they not only fail to appropriately address the issue but prosecute States who provide a reasonable and inexpensive legal avenue to assist in this pending disaster!!

Note too that farther along in the section from which the paragraphs were taken (pages 29 and 30 of the report or pages 41 and 42 of the PDF) that although there were just under 1400 more cases filed in District Court there was a decrease of more than 8800 cases filed in Magistrate Court. If illegal immigration is the foothold then somebody is falling down on their job of putting ALL these cases in front of a judge.

Why do I get the feeling that the fix is in and that the American people are going to get amnesty shoved down their throats whether they want it or not?

    2. Government's purpose is to secure man's God-given rights.

Relax, I don't think they can get enough political suicidal dems on board to pass it.
Take a good hard look, it's coming.

All on the left refuse to recognize the Mexican drug cartels are moving across our border and yet they see no danger in this. Why because they don't live in AZ, it's not happening in their neighborhood so why not have an open border.

The report certainly brings into focus the need to complete the fence. Further it brings into focus Obama is doing nothing about the border disaster. He say's we can't close the border until we have immigration reform, what crap. If we don't close the border the Mexican drug cartels will be butchering American politicians, police etc and putting the fear into the residents of communities to gain control same as they do in Mexico.

It's sad when votes come before lives. Of course, in all fairness, Bush wasn't exactly great on the border either. We need to build the fence and actually patrol our borders. It's time we put these Mexican drug cartels in their place.

Does anyone know WHY the fence that is done does not have barbed wire on it?

    Simple solution:
I know this will get the druggies on here upset and up in arms.

STOP BUYING DRUGS, The money will stop flowing, the drug gangs will go elsewhere. That will stop the gang problem then we can deal with the others crossing the border.

What you suggest is a two step process, but you can deal with it all in a one step process by just completing the fence and patrolling it.

I'm failing to see how border-region violence is related to illegal immigration. Can you please expand on that?

It's all about votes. Government officials who could stop that crap won't because they don't want to piss off the Mexican voters. So basically they are willing sell us out for votes. Then there's Eric Holder who is a pussy cat when we really need a tyranasourous Rex. He ain't gonna do shit and the criminal Mexicans know that.

Because politicians don't want to keep them out they just want it to look they are.

Illegal deportations are up 10% from last year, and more companies are being audited for illegal hirings. More is being done, but those with myopic spirits will always fail to see anything but the tray of oats before them.

Maybe we should start deporting druggies.
