A commission official said: "This is a new front. The teams are armed, but they can only use their arms in self-defence."
If the teams dispatched to patrol the border can only use their arms in self-defence and the illegal immigrants don't attack the teams, then how effective the teams can be at curtailing the illegal immigrants entry is questionable.

It's hard to detect sarcasm online. But if it's a serious question.

Everyone. At the moment 90% of the immigrants coming into Europe go through Greece. Africans, people from the middle east even up to people from myanmar.

As a matter of fact, according to Frontex, three-quarters of the 40,000 immigrants to Greece this year passed through Turkey
Oh lordy. 45,000 people a year against a population of 500,000,000. Big fucking deal.

Perhaps they don't THINK like you and don't want more illegals stealing their way in? That perhaps they want a bit of order here? You against order and embrace chaos? Ok, no rules for you! Is that it?

Obviously they don't think like me. I actually take freedom seriously especially freedom of movement and the right to pursue happiness. I don't restrict such rights according to nationalistic, ethnic, racial, religious or any other artificial constructs.
I'm not against order, I'm against imposed pseudo-order. If immigration would produce chaos as you imply then the US would be the most chaotic country in the world with 99% of its population derived from immigration. Since it isn't, immigration clearly doesn't cause chaos.

It's like trying to get into Mexico so you can then get into the U.S., the Mexicans use armed forced to protect their southern border and aren't kind to those sheltering illegals just passing through.

All order is imposed. I don't think humans are naturally orderly. So, long ago, some bright guy created laws in order to bring about some sort of order.

IF we suddenly allowed anyone who wanted to come here, do so, the system would collapse. I don't know if you have looked recently, but the livable areas of the West have been settled for a couple hundred years. We can no longer tell emigrants to go west and grab em a piece of land. The immigration that took place before this Nation was completely settled was direly needed. We no longer need folks to tame the wild areas.

Sometimes ideals such as you have just don't work out well at all. They sound nice, but that's about it. Makes for a good bedtime story, for children, but little more.

These people aren´t staying in Greece for the most part, they move on to other EU countries, once they are IN the union. To Italy, Germany, France etc. To enter through the greek/turkish border that has as many holes as a swiss cheese is a lot less dangerous than to risk your life trying to cross the Mediaterranean in little nutshells to Italy or the Atlantic to Spain or Portugal ( the spanish Canary Islands are just off western Africas coast). And especially the Italians have become very unkind to illegals that they catch on th open sea before landing on italian shores. They detain them on the remote island of Lampedusa, with nowhere to go........

The Lampedusa solution: Italy hardens heart to refugees - World - smh.com.au

But the actual point of the OP was that the EU has a joint border-security agency supposed to cope with illegal migration, Frontex, that now for the first time assumes duties from a state :
